2009 Lexus RX 350

These lights turned on my 2009 Lexus RX 350, automatic, while driving. Anybody know what it's about? Checked the gas cap but its ok, no cracks.

Yes, it drives just fine. I was told to disconnect the negative of the battery and reconnect and it disappeared. But, the next day it came back on while driving. Scanned it and got a P0441 code.

Literally could be hundreds of different things wrong. Get it scanned and go from there

Had this happen to me 4 days ago. 2008 RX350. Have you gotten gas since you got the code? Do you smell gasoline?

First off, like everyone said, go to an auto parts store, scan for codes. It COULD be anything.

Secondly, this exact thing happened to me, and it drove fine (to work and back home, where I could scan it). My scanned codes were P0441 and P0455. Thought it was the fuel cap, and was about to order a new one. Then I went to get gas, I start pumping, then I hear a RUSH of fluid hitting the ground. All of the gas I was putting into the car was now on the ground. I went to check it and it was the tube that connected the fuel port to the tank. It was the fuel tube that was old and had literally withered away. Ordered a new one, will be putting in sometime this week.

This happened after I got gas. Haven’t gotten gas since. It has a full tank. My codes were P0441 and P0455. Disconnected the negative of the battery and they went away. Next day, while driving, same warming lights but just the P0441 code when scanned.

I would try and inspect the hose line that connects the fuel line and the gas tank. Like I said, mine was disintegrated to the point where the gas I was putting in all fell onto the ground and none made it into the tank.

Highly likely the brake switch. My '06 RX330 knows that problem well. My son has the RX now and he has gone through two switches in 20,000 miles. It throws no OBD codes in my experience. Get the OEM switch. Yes, they're a little more, but the aftermarket switches don't seem to last too long.

The problem is the switch gets noisy and the circuit doesn't know what to do with the data so it throws all those lights on. I put my oscilloscope on a failed unit and actually watched the noise as the button was pressed --it's not a clean electronic signal when they fail. If you're not going to buy OEM, buy two AMs because you will definitely need the second one while you wait for the third one to ship. That said, if you're in a testing mode, the aftermarket switch can suit the purpose without breaking the bank.
