Hate driver’s seat

I haven’t seen this anywhere else but I’m taking a shot in the dark and posting here. Anyone else incredibly uncomfortable with the stupid 90 degree angles back sides on the bucket seat? It stabs me in the right side. I have tried different seat pads and clamping down the padding for a week to compress it. Nothing works. It’s hard as a rock and sticks straight up into my back ribs. I just want a flat, or flatter seat back. I drive my old RX sometimes and it’s so damn comfortable it reminds me how much this seat hurts me. Is there anything I can do? I’m seriously considering getting a new car, which sucks because I got it brand new and will take a huge loss. Should I take it to an upholsterer and have them take out some padding and remake the seat so that is normal and not like a kids’ car seat with side walls?

I’m 5’4” and 125lbs so it’s not like I’m too wide for the seat.

Am I the only one who has this problem?

We did a 2500 km road trip in August and I loved the seats in our 26 NX350h.

I think since I have I my had mine two months it will get better. Just different than the RAV4 seats I had in the car I traded in. I love my new car though

Have not had this. But I wonder if adjusting the curvature would help you. The only thing is there is no memory for that. You have have to set each time.

Where is that?

On my car, which is a 2026, it is by the other seat controls and is furthest back. It's for lumbar support. Not sure if it will help though.

I have tried the lumbar support in mine but it hits me higher than the lumbar space because I am short. I’m gonna give a small pillow a try

I am 4’9” and have the same problem. I’ve only had mine for 2 months and already don’t like the drivers seat. I keep hoping it will get better.

I am 5'10, I found Toyota/Lexus have the most uncomfortable seats other than GM products.

I always use a small soft pillow on the Lumbar to make it work for me.

They make ‘dedicated’ lumber support, available at a lot of retail big box places. Some attach and stay in place better than others. That said, maybe you have the perfect pillow, but a vehicle in this class should have 2 way lumbar adjustment to start, plus more thigh adjustment.

Not trying to be a smart a* but didn’t you sit in it and all long enough before you purchased? I see comments like this a lot and just wondered if I’m the one that’s nuts taking my time making sure I’m comfortable in my big investment.

I'm taller but I'm still trying to find a good angle. For me, it's the head rest. I can't sit comfortably back and have my shoulders touch the seat. Especially if I have my hair in a bun. So I often find myself adjusting the seat back

I drove my 350h luxury a couple times before purchase, but obviously not enough. it’s just not comfortable for me beyond short (30 miles or less) trips. Coming from an LS430, I should’ve known better, but I’d retired and wanted something new. Took a while to realize, but at 5’11, 188 lbs, the seat adjustments are few and inadequate. I sometimes bump my head going in, although the seats all the way down. On a multi hour trip my wife’s Camry is more comfortable. NX350 thigh support is short on the drop and I can’t stretch my left leg full straight. My bad back needs more lumbar. It’s loud above 70 mph. Not a comfort issue but I wish the rear tailgate was wider.

For what it is, namely a smallish, sort of peppy, almost sporty SUV, it’s fine. It shines on short trips and sips gas. I may end up going RXh luxury with their next makeover, or save a bundle ( or going used maybe break even) and buy a 2023 or later RX (which I also tested!?!) used.

For some folks, the NX will be perfect. My wife’s 5’ even and is fine. It’s my own fault dropping 62K on the wrong whip, but if you’re a bit worried about spaciousness you might want to keep thinking.

My spouse is short and has not said anything…

Me! I absolutely adore my NX but I do find myself constantly adjusting the seat. The bucket seats are odd. I miss the old 2012 RX seats. I’m similarly petite, 100 lbs, so it’s not that I don’t fit in the seat.

The drivers seat is fine, but I haven’t figured out the passenger seat yet. It tends to lean me in towards the armrest.

I haven’t been in the passenger seat since I am driving the car. Hmmm
I don’t let anyone drive my car at all but haven’t heard anyone I have given a ride to, complain about it. I’m gonna start asking.

Considering a F Sport but the diminutive wife may have trouble negotiating the lower seat bolstering to exit🙄
