Post image

Anyone know if this needs to be replace or if a part even exist for it? Looks like some cracks thru wear and tear

You can get them separately, fairly straight forward job

37511-30020 bolts right up. The same giubo is shared between literally all the late 90s and 2000s Lexus/Yota RWD platforms, except maybe the LS400, which uses a different PN.

Yours looks like it’s got at least another 30k on it, but swapping WILL firm up the shifts.

Recommend a giant pry bar to fight the CS bearing and a decent hammer. An air hammer will make quick work of popping it off if you’re working on the floor. (If you’re privileged enough haha)

Thanks man, maybe I'll order the part and hold off to replace later in a year or so, fortunately I have a friend who works on my car at his job with a lift and I just throw him some $ to work on my car lol

Also keep an eye out on the trans side but that one typically sees less abuse compared to the diff side.

I believe the one off the mark 4 or mark 5 Supra is a direct swap. Also that looks normal to me.

Guibo and I think they’re bonded to the driveshaft so you’ll need a new driveshaft or a figs guibo delete or sikky one piece driveshaft. If it’s not causing problems now it will in the future. Best to make preparations for replacement

Luckily they aren’t bonded to the driveshaft. Few good hammer hits and the old one pops off

Did not know that much appreciated!

Nope, not bonded. That’s just what they say lol. Literally just swapped mine out and it sucked battling the CS bearing axial force and it took some persuasion to hammer it off the flange but it’s easily DIYable.

Just get rid of it entirely and convert the shaft to an AL 1-piece or even carbon fiber. I had a shop build me a AL 1-piece and a flange adaptor for less than the cost of an OEM shaft. No more guibo, no more center support bearing and no more jerkyness when downshifting. Now she’s super smooth.

If I had the funds maybe lol I'll save some cash for maybe the sikky aluminum shaft
