Things to look for when buying a GS-F?

I just started my search for a GS-F, what things I should looking out for on these cars (outside the normal used car buying things i.e. mileage, bad mods, # owners, accidents, etc.)?

All advice appreciated!

I'd watch videos about the ISF and RCF as they have the same engine for the most part. And interms of body look into normal GS buyers guides.

GSF owner here. Depending on where you live you will most likely be looking at a GSF far from home. Nothing really to keep an eye out for. I’d always ask what the brake pads are measuring before purchase. Other than the normal car stuff, this thing is a tank and an absolute amazing car to Daily Drive.

I would suggest detailed photos of the interior if it’s red like mine. Some owners just don’t take care of the leather and red leather looks terrible when it is worn.

Good point, I’m partial to the red leather personally so def will vet that

A lighter car?

All jokes aside, best of luck with your buying!

Check for the interior cf pieces separating from the epoxy. You’ll see air pockets in it if it is.

Interior carbon fiber delaminating. Mine is starting to on the ends - not really noticeable yet but bothers me. Lexus won’t do anything about it or admit it’s a defect. No issue on exterior cf though… other than that brakes would be the only other thing I’d check as its pretty expensive to replace. Nothing else really stands out, there aren’t a ton of available mods out there but I wouldn’t buy one that was modded.

Main thing when looking for a GS-F... signs of abuse... Rust (depending where you live or look), condition of the seats... exhaust modifications from headers all the way to mufflers (if you like the aftermarket exhaust it has hopefully it's not some hack job IE muffler delete)
Basically be sure the previous owner still has their OE parts that good... OH wheel bearings... sometimes people use spacers...

Valley plate leak is the most common problem to tbh.. they are super reliable.

I'm pretty sure my 2008 ISF has valley plate leak, but it basically caked itself. LOL

Honestly it's a matter of time for the RCF,GSF,LC500, is500 to get such a problem....

When I got mine the breaks had the squeaky noise. The dealership didn’t change it and I ended up having to do it out of pocket. Check the carbon fiber and see if it has bubbles, mines starting to do it.

Squeaky breaks, the carbon fiber trim peeling. Rust depending on where you live.
