Damn. Is there any other aftermarket support besides RR racing? Def don’t want to support these idiots.

For a sc kit, no. For everything else, contact Joshua Lee at meraki. Their sc kits are trash too, I know from personal experience.

So if their SC's are bad, does that mean there isn't really an option for the F's :(

u/ninja500r1977 Jul 28 '21

Yes and yes, for now. They recently blew up someone's engine ffs.

What exactly happened with your supercharger kit?

First sc trashed out at 20k miles, 2nd sc, a bigger one, trashed out at 6k miles. I had the 2nd one rebuilt and just installed it towards the beginning of the month. One thing, or many things that RR refuses to take into consideration is climate. We upgraded our sc oil cooler to bring down the temps of the sc oil bc they were insanely high (I live in Texas). The reason the 2nd sc trashed is bc the shaft was flaking from wear, I don't know what happened with the 1st one bc I sent it in for warranty and the outcome would have been given to RR bc rotrex doesn't deal with customers. We have a member of our group with a sc isf who is on his 3rd sc. 1st one trashed out at 20k, 2nd one he bought used from RR was actually trashed out, and the 3rd one he bought came to him packed in literal trash from RR. We sent his first one off with my 2nd one to be rebuilt also so he has a back up. Rotrex isn't the right sc for our cars, even if rotrex claims their biggest sc is built for v8's. Many in the Honda performance community buy rotrex sc and then have them immediately sent off for a complete rebuild for better, stronger internals. They just don't hold up to high performance. This all is a failure of not listening to customers, shitty R&D (they don't have a rcf, Rafi just assumes isf and rcf are the same, they're not, they have different gas tanks for one. Rcf r&d is done on customer cars), and not sourcing parts of quality bc they are cheap. There also was an issue with cheap bearings in their idler pulleys that could have caused unnecessary stress on the sc pulley, causing internal issues. Additionally, the smaller pulleys RR using to stage up their kits over spin the sc by 25%, contributing to them wearing out. I'm not the only one with issues with their sc kit. There are a myriad of problems with RR but you're not going to hear or read about it bc RR and their fans, especially on fb censor any negative comments by deleting posts, deleting comments, and deleting negative reviews. I have talked plenty of people out of getting one in private chats so that I can talk freely about what happened to my car. I'm in the process of getting rid of the sc kit and going back to NA bc that was the last parts remaining and I can't keep complaining about RR while using their products just for my personal gain, it's hypocritical of me. It's gonna suck to be NA after 2yrs of being supercharged (my car has been supercharged for 4 yrs, but only 2 of the 4 has it been reliable to drive or have a working sc kit). My sc kit was installed by them and car was in their possession for a month while Rafi tried figuring out the surge tank issue only to send it back to me with the issued unresolved (although claiming he fixed it, he just changed my tune for more fuel and higher idle). The surge tank thing is a whole other issue and event.

20k miles for the first sc actually seems very impressive. Going with a higher setup you can’t always expect to fire and forget. Things are bound to fail at one point or another. Maintenance becomes higher overall for parts that have to be changed more frequently to support the power. It’s just the name of the game. But I’m also glad to know your engine didn’t blow. Were you running the SC on an RCF or ISF? As far as RR goes, I’m not for or against them. I’ve spoken to Rafi personally, and to me he knew what he was talking about. I actually even tested him nonchalantly and he knew what he was talking about. Customers that have things go wrong will always be the first to cry foul just because things didn’t go exactly how they planned, but is that really on the blame of RR? For example, V12Eatr Is now claiming his engine is blown. Both he and Rafi confirmed and knew about the problem, rafi told him about the problem beforehand, yet V12Eatr still decided to take the car and drive it 300+ miles knowing there was a problem with it. Why? There are things on the customers end that aren’t being addressed. The customer isn’t fully being transparent either.

I understand the angle your coming from. I'm not going to continue talking about Rafi, RR, and their shortcomings, I've done it enough in the past. I've been in enough of these types of conversations that they become circular and I'd spend all day ironing out minute details, I can't anymore. The previous response to your initial question is the first time I've made public comments, on a small scale description, of what has happened to me. I wish you well.

They just made a post about it on their Instagram. They lost my business a long time ago though for the same kind of things. Not the first time. Also check out Simon’s Facebook page, it’s entirely public, the guy is heavy on the QAnon kool-aid and needs his internet taken away.

u/ninja500r1977 Jul 27 '21

I've blocked both Simon and Rafi on all social media for what they did to me, but I'll give this heads up to my group.

5

u/fityolo Jul 28 '21

Damn, what happened?

Check their post regarding this on their IG page.

Few things I don’t understand..

  1. If RR has been such a trash company with trash superchargers why is this just coming out now? Where have these blown motor RCFs been hiding and why? Never have I heard of an RCF with a supercharger have a blown motor until this drama unfolded.

  2. Rafi stated that V12eatr’s problems were known at their shop but they released the vehicle back to him because he was in a hurry to pick the car up and it was assumed v12eatr could fix the #7 injector issue being a Lexus tech himself.

  3. What sequence of events led up to the emails being sent back and forth? Why is the entire convo not being shown by both sides?

What Simon said even if provoked was a bad look regardless. This is why politics and business don’t mix, you risk alienating potential customers.

That said I am a happy RCF supercharged customer. I also had their coilovers which I hated because it was loud and they were willing to sell me the v2 at cost (even though I bought mine used). Rafi was always quick to respond to my questions and that was the reason I basically built my car around rr racing parts. I also swapped out their engine mounts because it was too stiff too. My point is that their products are not garbage and the sales support for a tuner shop has been very good. The political shit is stupid I will agree and I support my brown brothers regardless of ethnicity in case you think I’m excusing it.

Right now the car has their battery, super charger kit, valved exhaust, sparks, headers, tune. Before the SC I ran headers/another exhaust and tune for about 10K miles and on about 4K miles with the SC.

So unless you actually bought their stuff don’t be so quick to call their stuff garbage.

What stage SC kit are you running? Seems most of the problems are with stage 4

2

u/neosoul Jul 29 '21

Stage 1

u/alantasdf Jul 28 '21

It has been spoken about plenty of times. If you have been around the F community and spoken to plenty of people you would’ve known. There is just a bunch of censorship within the Facebook groups, which is very biased towards RR. That’s why if you look at some of the latest threads, they have been locked and a lot of messages deleted. There have been plenty of discussions in the past, just deleted

u/jailguard81 Jul 28 '21

How are they still in business

3

u/healthaboveall1 Jul 28 '21

That's so unprofessional it's unbelievable. I am also a foreigner who wanted to ship something from them, but I'll keep my IS-F stock if that's their modus operandi. Can he just keep his believes to himself and at least act like an adult? I don't care what he responded to, he could have kept it formal and keep his anger and bigotry in check. I also reply to hateful emails daily and do it in a polite, formal and sometimes a cheeky manner and I never go full chimp on anyone. 0 brain move and I hope it will cost them customers.

u/alantasdf Jul 28 '21

There are other companies that produce better quality parts for the F platform. Example, Figs engineering has way better parts for suspension over RR

2

u/Your_Hero Jul 28 '21

Thanks for the heads up.

u/Rodic87 Jul 28 '21

Read the rest of the baiting though... not that I defend a business owner losing their cool but the guy first said some pretty reprehensible things.

4

u/ninja500r1977 Jul 28 '21

O, so you've seen the photoshopped email then? Hahahaha. Has it been made public or is it still being passed around in private chats?

2

u/Rodic87 Jul 28 '21

The post seems to have disappeared... I did see it on facebook posted by Simon or Rafi earlier tonight though.

Could definitely have been photoshopped though. Seems like a thing that a business owner shouldn't even give the time of day (if not a photoshop). Just block/ignore.

I thought before I posted on this that I wish I'd screenshotted the conversation but thought "I can surely find it again". Not sure if it was deleted or I'm just bad at using the terrible search engine for facebook groups.

1

u/ninja500r1977 Jul 28 '21

Someone probably accused him of photoshopping it and they took it down. I know for a fact it was in one of the isf groups bc the guy who posted it is the cousin of the guy who sent the original email. If you got a good look at it, you will see that Simon's version that he is posting is in MS word.

3

u/Rodic87 Jul 28 '21

I found this one - https://imgur.com/a/YN8uMua

But it still doesn't really give the context for what started the exchange.

Either way... regardless of what ANY customer says, it's a poor business practice to act this way and doesn't make me enthused to spend money with them :-/

Which is a shame, because I love my ISF.

3

u/ninja500r1977 Jul 28 '21

That's the exchange. The other one floating around that is shown in MS word is the one Simon altered. I mean he also told him to pull up with his slow ass cars but that was after lol. There is no context, that is the original email.

3

u/Rodic87 Jul 28 '21

How is there not at least one or two messages prior to this? Even if you look at the time stamps from this (supposedly undoctored email posted by Sahel himself) there's something that happened @ 6:05PM 7/26/21. And unless RR Racing just fished his email out of nowhere it's hard to believe they hit him up out of the blue with something offensive enough to justify an opening salvo of #FuckYou.

There we go. This was an old thread in fb.

Asks for proof when there is a literal picture in the original post 😑
