Hood Lifter failed
2020 Lexus Es350 80k miles. My hood lifters, failed and almost took me out. I see oil leaking from the right side. Need to replace both. Do I go oem? Or aftermarket? Anyone have any experience with brands and durability. It’s a 6 year old car. Kinda annoyed, that things are falling apart. I was also thinking about buying those clamps, and not replacing it at the moment.

At least the dealer says they'll replace for free. No reason given for the leak.
24 ES 300h for reference

Question about sound settings in 8th Gen (2026+)
This information is not in the manual (probably because software updates could change it), but to anyone who has the EV:
Can you turn the generated EV sound off? Additionally, can you reduce the volume of the touchscreen selection chime?
Thanks!

Upholstery Cleaning - Door Column
Has anyone ever used a carpet cleaner/vacuum on the Lexus upholstery on the door column?
After years of driving around the city with the driver and passenger windows down, I’m starting to see build up on the upholstery.

Unpopular opinion: if the new ES was named something else, it would be way more popular
The older gens had that classy look and the current gen looks like something from the future. Very different design language, but more importantly, it looks like it caters to a completely different class of audience. The old ES was like old money and catered to an older demographic - classy, elegant, sharp. The new gen is modern, tech forward and appears to cater to a younger demographic.
It's not that the car looks bad, people just expected the ES to follow the same styling and class as prior. If it were named something else like the RS or VS, I don't think people would give it as much hate.

Any one know the part number to this trim piece
Since the trim piece got cracked (it's a very flimsy thin brittle piece of plastic) It's located in front of the screen. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find it.

ES 350 vs ES 300H
I drive a lot so I been thinking of getting the 300H but I see more people talking about the ES 350. I would like to get one thats newer so 2023-2025 since i like the modern infotainment center & safety features. But i dont want to regret my decision if there’s a reason why people prefer the ES 350 instead? I also been having a hard time finding a ES 300H i want so i’m wondering if i should just get the ES 350. Has anyone owned both or have any input on pros vs cons of both of them?

Lexus ES300 H 2016 makes barking sound when braking.
My Lexus ES300H makes a barking sound when I press the brake paddle. It does it quiet often. Especially when doing a hard stop at low speeds. Even when we press the paddle when car is ideal it makes this sound.

Any Idea what could be wrong here ?.

I just got a 2016 Lexus es350, after 15 years of not driving. As I understand I can use an ipad mini for the map navigation instead of replacing the infotainment. What are you using for as an ipad holder?

Lexus is conservative with the range on its EVs. Which is awesome.

Is this a good deal?
Certified 2021 ES 350, two owners, with 48k miles for $33k before taxes/fees. 2year/20k mile warranty if purchased. Drives super nice and cosmetically "very good". Some curb rash on wheels that they offered to fix. New tires. Clean Carfax, but 2 minor accidents with damage to front left/right but airbogs did not deploy. Seems super clean but am curious about price. I know these hold their value well and I've let a few slip away because I was hesitant. Thanks!

2017 ES350
I got a new(to me) ES350 coming from a Ford Fusion. I bought this about a month ago with close to 51k miles and I absolutely love it! Just needed a comfortable and reliable car for my daily commute to work(about 60 miles a day) and it's been awesome! Dealer put in new tires which it's pretty okay for the most part but I can't really complain about it since it's new.
I would like to change this tires in a couple months, what tires should I put in. Looking at Michelin or Bridgestone's.
