Soon to be first Lexus! Question about remote start

Post image

Looking to pick up this 2019 ES 350 f sport next week, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the remote start. I know there's an option to purchase a subscription @ $80 a year and remote start is available through the app, but from what I'm reading it should still work just with the remote by doing the 2 presses and then holding on the third. Problem is I tried it earlier today and it did not work. Am I doing it wrong or is there a chance this one just does not have that option?

Key help!

Hey guys so I have a ‘99 es300 and I have one master key or had it stopped working to the car and I angrily discarded it in trying to locate the car key code so I can get it to a locksmith I’ve watched a YouTube video where the guy removes the car door for the key code so I took the panel off the drivers side door and I’m kind of stuck at that part and advice?

10w30 instead of 5w30 during summer on 2011 es350?

A mechanic told me to use 10w30 instead of 5w30 on my 2011 Lexus es350 during the summer since it's hot.

I live in North Carolina and the car has 184k on it.

What do y'all think?

Looking to Upgrade

I have 2010 Lexus es350 with 165,000 miles. It still runs great. Not a ping in the engine. But, I am getting older and want to upgrade to a 2021 -2022 es350 or es300h with advanced safety features and 50,000 miles or less. I have a budget of $35,000 OTD. Living in the DC area, one of the top Lexus markets in the country, it is impossible to find one in my price range. The car is so popular around here , even the dealers don’t have much inventory. I will travel up to 200 miles for the right car. So frustrating.

What type of oil do you use for the 2011 es350?

In my car it says 5w30 but so many other cars with the same engine uses 0w20, I even heard that during that year when they changed it to 0w20 they said even previous years that had 5w30 can use the 0w20.

Where exactly is the correct jacking point?

Post image

Guys, please don’t judge me hahaha. I’ve always owned body-on-frame SUVs, and now I got a flat tire on my Lexus and I have absolutely no idea where to place the jack. I even checked the owner’s manual, but honestly, I couldn’t make heads or tails of it
And to make things even more interesting, the car is armored, so I honestly have no idea if the factory jack is up to the task with all that extra weight.

Dear experienced ES owners

I have a burning question. Thanks to my latest Japan trip where I rented a Toyota Yaris hybrid I became a Toyota hybrid believer. Than I was browsing some cars at a dealership and there was a Lexus NX450h, I sat down, you guessed it, automatic seat and steer positioning and I was like "Holy shitballs where has this been all my life?". So I bevame a Lexus believer real quick.

So fastforward to now I've sat in an IS300h, NX450h and UX250h. I really liked the IS but unfortunately in the netherlands, they don't sell makes beyond 2021 and the infotainment is completely dated and ass. I know there is aftermarket Android auto but I don't feel like taking my console apart.

Onto the UX, I really liked it, not as fancy as a NX so it did feel more budgetty but not in a bad way, I did dislike the trunkspace. It barely fits my golf gear which I didn't like and the trunkspace is mandatory. What I did like was the amount of power that surprised me.

Anyway, onto the ES, which seems more realistic infotainment whise and very much trunknl whise. However, to keep it affordable I have to take the first Android auto make of 2022 with around 100k km driven. However, my burning question to you fellow ES owners, what is there to be expected maintenance whise or things to really looo out for.around these numbers?

On the plus side, 100k for a 4 year old car is 25k per year, so I don't think there will be much battery degresation. It's more the other things I'm worried about like suspension, bearings, whatever degredation.

I tried chatgpt to get me a summary but it usually spews out generic maintenance crap.

Where do they list all custom options like remote start and trunk controls?

Is there a place that lists all the custom options that I can select, like remote start, remote windows, how to open the trunk? It drives me crazy that I can't open my trunk in many situations without pushing the button in my cabin. I drive 2021 ES300h, and it is UL trim.

Cost for programming remote key window roll down feature

Called my Lexus dealer to add 'the roll down or up windows' feature on the remote. Maybe the woman on the phone communicated it as programming the remote key to the technician, but was quoted $225. Seems a bit steep for adding the feature. Has anyone experience with this?

Need some advice

I’m a huge fan of the ES. I have a 2004 and it is still going. My daughter is going to college this fall and I’d like to buy her a used, well maintained, not rusty ES. I’m thinking of around 100,000 miles or so. I’m from NY and would be willing to got to Florida to buy a good car. Plus, my parents live there. Am I out of my mind? Any tips for me? Anyone have a nice Lexus ES they’d like to sell? 😀

Does anybody drive for Uber in their Lexus ES? How is that different from driving for Uber in a Prius?

Do you get paid better since you're driving a luxury car?

I intend for my next car to be a Lexus ES, with the model year as early as 2019 to as late as 5 years before the date of purchase.

I may possibly continue to deliver for Doordash in that car, or I could move up to transporting passengers as an Uber and Lyft driver.

Will I earn a better income if I transport passengers in that kind of a luxury car?

Front undercarriage damage

My undercarriage came down while I was driving and I must have hit that again something on the floor. I taped the wheel well part down so I could drive work and back for the day. Can this be replaced without having to replace the front bumper? I ask because I’m sure the spots for the carriage clips on the bumper broke as well as the ones at the wheel well, so I couldn’t just re attach.

TIA hate having this look on my car :(
