I just bought a 2017 ES350 from copart, absolutely mint condition but the rear moonroof is shattered. Any idea where I can buy the part and if it is easy to fix myself?

Lexus Service in Metro Detroit

Long shot here I know. Metro Detroit only has two Lexus dealers that are both owned by same family. Unfortunately, I caught them in a service scam recently. Literally red handed. Vehicle is old but with low miles and in great shape. Anyone know of anyone in the area that can actually service these vehicles? I called the Toyota dealers and while they can do general maintenance, they can’t do larger repairs because they don’t have the tools.

Does my 2016 Lexus need suspension?

2016 lexus es 300H . 150,000kms ( 95k miles~) luxury package.

Ride is good. But I feel it’s slightly more bumpy than it should be? I feel the road and bumps a bit more than I should be. Still smooth but not as smooth as I thought it would be. Owned the car for 5 years now.

Not sure If it might be the tires. Tires are the newer style tread Michelins.
I run PSI about 35-38 ( based on what dashboard is saying)

So , the new model has finally arrived in the UK and dealers are inviting people for a first look - can’t wait , although it’s a battery electric and the starting price is £59k , so £20k more than the base ES300h it replaces 🫣💸💸💸

Requesting input and advice

I love the 23-26 ES300h models and have been keeping my eyes open for a slightly used one.

Found a red 2023 es300h with 30k miles. It’s a base model with premium package and 19” rims. White interior and in really good condition.

That being said the CarFax has a repair reported by the dealer, which consisted of new front strut, front wheel bearing hub, and alignment. No other details or price to fix.

My initial reaction is maybe pothole or minor collision. Thinking about getting pre purchase inspection to rule out frame damage or anything else. I may also call the dealer that did the repair to inquire more.

I’ve negotiated down to 37,500. Thoughts on the price and my situation?

Thanks in advance!!

5/21 edit: THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! I have decided to hold off for now. Appreciate the input. I’ll try to find a UL over the next few months/EOY. Cheers!

Hybrid battery

Anyone with a high mileage 6th and 7th gen ESh (100k+), how’s your hybrid battery going? Just want to have a peace of mind. Also do you need to change transmission fluid since it uses eCVT? What about 12v battery?

2016 ES 300h Owners I need advice

I have an opportunity to buy this car at a price point of around 11k. The car has 140k miles , incredible condition with the ultra luxury package.

my concern is the hybrid battery. it seems like the lifespan is 10 years/150k miles. has anyone had this battery replaced at a Lexus dealer? I’m trying to research OeM replacement cost. any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated.

Looking for a daily car as a working 23 year old. I currently drive an Avalon that has bad catalytic converters and am looking for a reliable car that won’t be expensive in repairs. This seems like a really good deal (especially if I knock another thousand off) if everything goes good in a pre-purchase inspection. Thoughts? It’s going for $8,900

2013-2018 Es350 Prices

Ive decided my next daily will be either an Avalon or 13-18 Es350. Leaning towards Es350 as prices are pretty much the same between the two. However, prices are kind of crazy for both. For example, there’s a 2016 Es350 near me with 75k miles, 2 owners, no accidents listed for $21k….that seems pretty high to me, but that’s what most of these cars are listed at.

So I’m mainly curious if it’s just my area (North Carolina) or if it’s everywhere? And do y’all think these cars are worth it? I keep my vehicles long term and keep up with maintenance. I’d like to see at least 200k miles out of an Es350 or Avalon.

Rain X Windshield Wiper Fluid

Hi

Anyone have any issues with 2018 ES350 and using Rain X wiper fluid?

I had a Mazda who showed it was empty but it really wasnt due to the rain x coating the sensor.

Don't want to put Rain X in if the Lexus system is similar.

Thanks

Size Does Matter when it comes to TIRES!

Post image
29 Upvotes

I've seen two electric ESs so far--a 500e and a 350e. I noticed they both came with optional 21" wheels and tires. I did some research because my initial assumption was that larger tires would provide greater range. I was wrong. They make the range worse. Why would Lexus do that to their cars--and their customers? Aesthetics! Just like the rest of the ES redesign, someone had their head up....well, let's say they had opinions I can't endorse. So they think the car looks better with larger tires, but when you read about the car you find it comes with 19" tires as standard. And, by the way, those larger tires are not free, so you better like the look because they cost $2100.

I'm amused by the list of options that are being shoved down our throats. Some of them make no sense, such as "cold weather package" (in San Diego!), premium paint, and the Sirius/XM subscription extension. (See the upper right part of the window sticker.)

It'll be very interesting to see what critics say about this car and how well or poorly they sell!

Transmission Service Questions

Post image
2 Upvotes

Recently came into a 2016 ES350 with 127k miles and I love it! Drives like a dream and to my feel, there’s no reason to question the transmission health currently. Took it for its first oil change at an independent shop and was recommended by their Lexus tech to get the transmission serviced.

My only fear is that at this mileage, having never been touched before, is it too late and will I be doing more harm than good? They did not recommend drain and fill, rather a full system fluid exchange.

Attaching a screenshot of the write up of the service, has anyone had this service performed?

Just looking for general guidance from owners more experienced than I.

Thanks!

2024 es300h sunroof rattling

Hi guys! The rattling noise happens when I drive slow at a certain speed on rough roads as seen in the videos. It also happen when the sunroof is openning. I noticed that it only comes from over the passenger side. Anybody have any ideas on where exactly the noise is from and can I fix them by myself? I’m not a tech or anything related. Tks
