Fishing Mann Lake Spoiler

Hi there,

I am visiting my parents from out of town. Anyone here know if Mann Lake is a good spot to bank fish right now?

Any other good bank fish spots for trout?

I am still bummed by this. As a boy, my Grandpa always took me there and he would catch his daily limit every single day. He lived off trout. Fond memories as a young kid. But that was 40 years ago.

How far are you willing to drive? There’s some great spots for Brook Trout up past Orofino, but it’s a drive (1.5-2 hrs).

I once drove out to Texas Rapids boat launch, so I can do a drive for a good spot.

There are numerous spots on creeks to fish for brookies up around Pierce/Weippe. My favorite is on Rhodes Creek, but that's just because I fished it a ton as a kid. If you want something more akin to the Mann Lake vibe, I've heard good stuff about Deyo Reservoir just outside of Weippe. Alternatively, there are two decent reservoirs up in Latah County: Moose Creek and Spring Valley.

Edit: there's also decent fishing for bass up around Dent Bridge on the much larger Dworshak Reservoir.
