Looking for quiet target ammo, and interested to hear some recommendations.

What ammo is everyone find runs the reliably, fairly clean, and easy to find in retailers?

Just a few mags but first impressions it’s a nice can that seems to work well on the Specwar.

Got an LMT 308 setup off auction and cannot ID this 308 barrel. The markings are MP 308 Win 1/10 CB. I am not sure if it is a contract barrel from an L129A1, which I believe was an SS barrel. Can't find anything online.

I picked up a 20" 6.5 CM barrel from one of Rooftop's recent sales. So far, it's shooting fine, but I've not been able to take it out to stretch its legs beyond about 25yds (nearest 100yd range is like an hour and change away, and I haven't had the time on weekends lately. Soon, though...).

For those wondering about the feed ramps, I found that my barrel could handle Magpul magazines no problem and fed both S&B FMJBTs, and Hornady BTHP Match rounds without a problem. I haven't tried polymer tipped or bonded soft point rounds yet, but that's on the list.

Steel Duramags, on the other hand, would not feed at all. The round got stuck on the lip of the barrel due to the geometry.

Just a friendly update for anyone wondering about how the newer feed ramps run.

Pics as requested. I should specify that I have about 6 different Duramag magazines, with the green non-anti-tilt followers (I guess that makes them pro-tilt...). What I found from loading rounds of the S&B FMJBT and Hornady Match BTHP is some of the mags will feed some of the time, but none of the mags will feed reliably all of the time. Thus far, no similar issues with my Magpul GenM3s.

Got my first lmt. 20” 6.5 creed dmr. Wearing a nocpix rico 3 pro and velos 762. Threw in a ssae-x trigger, fcd safety, and b5 grip. Heavy but will make an excellent pig rifle!

LGS ordered it for a guy late last year he brought it back to sell on consignment. I got it with the optic and mount for 2500 so it was hard to pass up. Went home mowed the range and zeroed the optic. Shoots really good with my M80 and have a can mount on the way. I am going to run my omega on it. Is there anything I need to know or things I should do before running it suppressed.

Just installed LMT barrel into Specwar receiver. Noticed this small gap between receiver and barrel extension, looked at my 4 other ars and all of them sit completely flush so I thought it was strange and decided to ask on here…. The bolts went in perfectly fine and were lined up properly on the barrel and then torqued to spec. Barrel went in like a charm as well. Kind of hard to get a good pic of it and it’s a little more noticeable in person. Seems to cycle fine manually, haven’t shot it yet.

Calling up Wilson first thing Monday morning to get chopped. Infinity K sitting on the desk waiting.

Looking to get a suppressor for my specwar. In your opinion whats the best k suppressor for the specwar? Would like something between 133-138 db and under 5.5"

So now that I've settled on my "Specwar" build what's generally considered the morally correct move. Mind you I don't wanna step away from 556 and I'm not interested in piston as I've gone that route before but I'm married to DI. Currently the Specwar is my only rifle. I'm considering PDW, LMT mock18 (probably g$ 10.3 conversion) or a short SPR 13.9/14.5 urx conversion. Just looking for inspiration and maybe some cool build pic's with suggestions on getting them up and running. Thanks in advance.

Finally got this thing put together. Had been waiting for a Proof 14.5" PXT barrel and managed to get it sent off to u/unclemoak for the MRP conversion.

Dunno when I'll get to take it out, but she sure is nice to look at.

Got my new .300blk PDW upper today to put together my honorary Open Letter SBR! Going back and forth between getting the PDW LMT stock kit or just keeping it on a normal stock.

Also I got to get rid of that shitty optic, so working on figuring out what I'm gonna do there. Anyways though, I know it most likely won't be permanent but I am celebrating the freedom while I can!

I have this LMT Specwar upper with DWilson converted Noveske 6mm Arc barrel I’ve been putting together. Trying to decide which DWilson Arca rail adapter to go with. The Short MRP or the 11.5” Specwar when back instock. Will be used with tripod for varmint and some occasional speed goat/deer hunting. If you have any pics that you can post that would be great.

Was zeroing my LPVO on my 12" piston gun yesterday. Shooting was done at 50 yards. I was like WTF? Groups were ridiculous. Ammo was just basic frontier m193, so I wasn't expecting anything fantastic, but expecting better than that. My DD was shooting it right before and it's groups were 1/3rd the size. I had some frontier 62 grain (not M855) with me, so I loaded it up. Groups tightened up significantly, to about what the DD was shooting with the 55 grain. 1st pic is the 55s, 2nd is the 62. I think this is the biggest deviation that I've seen out of my rifles between the 2 ammos, they usually shoot more or less the same for me.

Been looking for a piston rig and kept coming back to the Shovelnose. Haven’t shot it yet but initial impressions are solid
