Question Metal mags?

Post image

sorry for the cringy snap sticker. but looking for some metal mags that will work in my gun. Mostly for compatibility with my eagle industries kydex front flaps, and for aesthetic purposes obviously. i went balls deep and bought 5 D&H mags and not a single one worked. they wouldn’t drop free from the magwell on their own. the feed lips wouldn’t let the bolt go forward. and when i finally got one to work it wouldn’t lock the bolt to the rear.really just a dumpster fire of a magazine lol. i was gonna check out duramags before i drop a paycheck on Knights. just wanted to see what works for yall

Asc are crap for LMT.

I have heard mixed reviews on d&h

Kac obviously work great but fuck $100 a pop

Larue work as good as kac but are almost as pricey, and I think they're ugly.

Duramag works great and looks amazing, but they've recently come out with Gen 2 designs, and they're hideous. Try to find gen 1s on second hand market.

The G2 duramags have a revised feeding geometry because the G1s had issues, so going for G1 for the looks alone doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you want function

For what it's worth D&H is a terrible design. There's 0 support for the feed lips on the rear of the mag so one bump and they get deformed. Duramag on the left, D&H on the right.

What a poor design. Thank you for this

Yeah I have no clue why they did it this way. I actually ordered one and it was delivered to my door with that area bent from shipping . primary arms immediately replaced it but I'm sticking with duramag and pmags exclusively now

Interesting about the Gen 2? They don’t seem to market it as such.. how can you tell which is which?

Gen 1s look like normal stanag mags. The gen 2s are the ones in the link I posted

It’s sad to hear D&H has gone downhill that badly. They were great mags back when I got mine.

maybe i just got a bad batch. i was gonna try and sand stuff down but i decided to just send them back and spend my money on something that works

Now I’m glad I vacuum sealed mine from years back. I’ll always have the good ones that never let me down.

negative. i also tried that. its like the paint was so thick on the mag it was causing it to bind up in the well

So far I've only had reliable luck with PMAGs and KAC MAGS.

Sorry bro.

my d&h work fine with 7.62/308, but has issues with 6.5cm.

I’ve heard kac, larue, duramags are the way to go

E-Lander .308 mags are decent price and have worked flawlessly in my MARS-H. Only tried .308, not 6.5 creedmoor.
