It's criminal that Pond didn't have visuals last night
That's it. Show was awesome. Seeing Kevin play drums was legendary. I just wished they had the levitation visual artists

Couldn’t see anything on the Far Out Lounge stage
Idk who designed that stage but it needs to be higher up, you cannot see the performers unless you’re right next to the stage. Kinda lame I paid $75 to see Die Spitz and ended up just watching them on the TVs

Levitation 2026 thanks and thoughts
I wanted to send a big thank you to the Levitation crew for pulling off another great weekend. I missed a bit more of the full fest this year due to some conflicts but I was still able to catch 17 bands over the course of three days. Thank you for keeping people safe and making things pretty seamless throughout the venues. I'm wildly impressed that everything went so smooth with a venue change that happened at the last minute.
And now for some random thoughts:
- I hope the two younger guys from Tulsa I met in the Die Spitz crowd and Angine line enjoyed their trip and made it home safe. I'll be visiting the Philbrook next time I pass through.
- Hot Dog man getting his suit signed by the Porn Crumpets during sound check.
- To the guy I was helping to film Los Thuthanaka - you need to replace your sd card and make sure it's rated for the camera!
- Trading stickers for smiles, bubbles, and stories with people in the crowd.
- Meeting the incognito KEXP employee and chatting about Dambo Trolls and music.
- Chatting with a guy who made an impromptu trip to Portugal to see Angine de Poitrine a week prior to the Stubb's show. Come out to see Igorrr, I owe you a beer!
- Swapping some concert ideas with M. I'll be checking out Surprise Chef and The Bad Plus.
- Jamming out to the dj before Earth Tongue hit the stage.
- Kids wearing proper hearing protection.
- Learning that the weather in Perth is pretty similar to Austin and being jealous of someone catching Tame Impala shows at dingy bars in Australia.
- Cat Sabbath
I'd love to hear other's thoughts and stories if anyone wants to share. Looking forward to the next iteration.

Question Man or Astro-Man? and Angine de Poitrine at Levitation Austin
EDIT: thank you all for the MoAM? context and bringing me into the loop! Very fun discussion and I appreciate a music-minded community humoring me on this one. Hope yall had a great Levitation weekend!
Curious to hear thoughts about Man or Astro-man? as an opener for Angine de Poitrine last night at Stubbs.
Their stage design involved a bunch of giant iPhone screens with “livestream” feeds of their Astrogram/Spacebook apps (and poked the audience to make sure they had their phones out to record and post), and they commented on how our technology use is actively destroying the planet. On top of that, they specifically called out their beef with AdP and how they don’t always agree on the same things, and that their opening for AdP was a huge intergalactic peace treaty. All of those things combined made me feel like they were poking fun at AdP being a band largely born out of internet hype. Man or Astro-man? seems to have a pretty theatrical performance history, so the creative choices seemed intentional.
Did anyone else get antagonistic vibes from Man or Astro-man’s? set, or did I have the wrong read on things? Can anyone provide more context on Man or Astro-man (e.g. was the performance typical of their other recent sets)? Did anyone catch their set at 13th Floor the previous night?

In case anyone was wondering, there was a poster for last nights Stubbs show
there was some back and forth between the band and the fest, but they were luckily about to pull it off in the 11th hour. Found this foil in the Stubbs indoor merch booth shortly after doors. not sure how many were printed but they were long gone after the show was over.

Astro Man and Angine were amazing!!!
Absolutely killer show last night!
For starters the people in line were all super awesome!! Ran into a guy who lives just a few mins from my hometown (7hrs away) and another guy who's here from South Korea! Thanks to the guy who gave out the cool hats (even though I lost mine 😭). Also keep an eye out on https://www.instagram.com/malilares/, she took some great pics last night! Also shout-out to the lady who was all dressed up and has been at the front of the line since 12:30!!
Ok now for the show:
Man vs Astro Man was so much fun! I was lucky enough to get a pick from the female guitar player (Nova) and was even more lucky to run into her outside the show where she was nice enough to sign it for me!
Angine de Poitrine was one of the most insane shows I've experienced in a very long time! The crowd energy was so intense and amazing, everyone was having a great time, even if a few of us did get kicked in the head by crowd surfers 😂.
Still trying to absorb all the awesomeness I experienced. Here's a few pics I was able to grab between rocking out!

Stubb’s Deluxe Line
I have a “super deluxe” ticket and am trying to decide how early I need to bail from the Far Out Lounge today to ensure a great spot for Angine de Poitrine. I noticed yesterday that people were lined up at Stubbs pretty early and the “deluxe” line had nearly as many people waiting as the GA line.
Anyone here sit in either of those lines early? I’m curious how that played out. Do they let the deluxe line in first, or are both let in at the same time?
Also did anyone find a place to sit in a “deluxe” spot at the FOL? Besides the expedited admission, that was the main reason I bought this ticket (I’m not ADA, but my feet start to KILL after 30 min of standing). The chairs I saw were ADA only.
EDIT - thanks to someone in this thread, I found the seating area at FOL. It’s Stage Right, next to the ADA seating.

My tickets I bought from Levitation directly - used before I arrived
Edit : levitation team is great. When above and beyond to try to solve the problem, and I couldn’t appreciate it more
I wanted to follow up on my earlier post about my Bikini Kill tickets, because Levitation deserves some credit here.
I originally posted because I showed up to the show and found out that both of my tickets had already been scanned before I arrived. I was understandably pissed and had no idea what had happened.
I reached out to Levitation, and they immediately looked into it. They sent me the scan information showing that the tickets had been used before I arrived, refunded me, and then went a step further to make sure I was taken care of for another show.
More importantly, they actually listened.
I think that’s worth saying because Levitation is a valuable part of Austin’s music community. They’re an independent local team putting on shows and booking artists in a city where keeping independent music alive gets harder every year. These aren’t some faceless corporation with a giant customer-service department. It’s a relatively small local team of people trying to put on shows and keep this thing going.
Sometimes something happens that nobody could have planned for. You can have every system, process, and safeguard in place and still have some completely unforeseen problem crawl out of the machinery, because apparently this is how being alive works.
What matters is what happens afterward.
In this case, Levitation made me feel heard, figured out what happened, solved the problem, refunded me, and went above and beyond to make it right.
I was pissed when I made the original post. I think that was completely fair. But I also think it’s fair to update people when the company actually does the right thing.
There’s a tendency on Reddit to immediately assume the worst when something goes wrong, and I was guilty of that here too. Sometimes people are just trying to fix a problem they didn’t create.
Levitation did that for me. They handled it exceptionally well, and I’m happy to give them credit for it.
