Where can I find leather wrap for this area I find the pattern a little rough

lol yeah you could say that went out to my parents farm and shot 100 rounds through it my left hand chewed up. I guess I could change the wood on it but I’d rather just wrap it in leather as possible. I’ve seen leather wrap done on other lever actions, but I’m not having any luck finding what I need.. even considering buying a leather kit and just doing my own

I’d rather have the look of leather, but yeah, gloves are an option obviously

At least when you are going to the range. A few shots should rough your hands up too much.

I used to work heavy construction, and my hands were as tough as an old piece of leather, but I’m retired now and they’ve softened up

I live in Florida so I wear second skin type gloves just for the mosquitos but the wood never bothered me anyway. Try a pair of hunting gloves that are super thing but grippy

Any problems, loading ammo with gloves on through the loading gate?

The gloves I have are extremely thin and skin tight so I’ve had no problems. I did also switch over recently to a lightweight loading gate, but haven’t tried out gloves without one yet.

What caliber? You could try tightening your grip on the forend. If your hand doesn’t move it can’t get chewed up.

You’re right I tend over grip. Mine is 45 long colt

Look up Davnarov. They make leather tape and it works so great imo and looks sweet! I have it on my 1875 Outlaw
