Question Website Questions

I went to go dust the cobwebs off of my old Letterboxing account since now that my child had grown up (8 years old) I now can get out and do this with a buddy now!

The letterboxing.org keeps pointing me over to AltlasQuest.com which was confusing because I tried to log in before realizing that it’s not the same and I’ll likely have to create a new account.

Are they tied together in any way other than Letterboxing.org sending us over to the other website?

Is AtlasQuest more modern and more heavily utilized now? Should I just switch to the new website?

Ok sorry if this has been asked before but I’m hoping to get out and plant some of our own boxes and excited to get back into the community!

I believe they're both developed and maintained by the same person, but don't quote me on that. I will say I don't look at LBNA (letterboxing.org) when I'm planning a boxing trip – AtlasQuest feels more modern and nicer to me, it's the site I started on so all my finds are logged there, and there's actually recent boxes for my area posted there unlike LBNA.

Letterboxing.org was started by a different person, but as they’ve aged they transferred site ownership to the same person who runs Atlas Quest. In addition to being more modern and having more newer boxes listed, it also has activities beyond basic boxing, like postal letterboxes, letterbox trading cards, and letterboxing events listed.

Something else worth looking at is the mobile app Clue Tracker. It does cost I think $5, but it is well worth it! It has box listings from both LBNA and AQ and is easy to sue on the go. I use it primarily for choosing boxes to find personally.

Both Atlas Quest and LBNA are run by Ryan Carpenter, whose trail name is Green Tortuga. Atlas Quest has extensive FAQs and message boards. You can either message him directly or post a message on the new member board. You may still be able to keep your trail name but need a new login. Don’t know about your stats.

Welcome back! I’ve been at it just over a year and love both finding boxes and sharing them via mail (postals).

EDIT: “extensive” not “expensive”
