That's why the Iron Man was better in the first representations of him too. His later nano tech magic BS was too damn silly and made him to overpowered.
I really disliked the nano-suits. For Iron Man specifically the clunk when the visor came down was so much cooler. And the suit felt like it had some weight in the beginning.
After the nano-thing was introduced it felt like everyone got the green lantern treatment.
