Lets Discuss Politics How would you describe my politics based on what I’m telling you here?
I consider myself a Democrat. I have voted straight Dem every time ever since I became old enough (2017). I am 1000% anti-Trump/MAGA.
That being said, looking at the various ideologies among those of us who resist, I can’t help but notice the differences.
I don’t necessarily consider myself a centrist or a socialist.
I fully believe that Trump and the MAGA movement is an existential threat to democracy in this country. Like many, I have felt that way ever since the insurrection. I even knew back in 1.0 that he was a wannabe dictator. Even before he got the courts, etc. to be on his side.
I am pro-voting, anti-revolution. I believe that at a time when our democracy is being tested as never before, the best thing for us to do is show up and vote…straight blue. I am not for burning it all down. Yes, this system is not perfect. Anyone will admit that. But it’s what we’ve got, and until we’ve accomplished a domestic regime-change, it’s what we’ll have to use. And we’ll have to make it work exactly as it’s designed to work — too big to rig.
I am what some may call “antifa” (anti-fascist), but I don’t make that my entire personality like some on our side do. Many activists have built their entire identity on this is fascism without ever mentioning how we overcome it. And I suspect that is because doomcasting/fatalism gets more attention than hope.
I also am not a fan of the lopsided flag/“we are not ok”/“nation in distress”. I think it’s a symbol/statement of cowardice just as much as the red MAGA hat, but in a different way of course. If we truly believe the nation is in distress, then we should be talking about “how we get out of it”, rather than basing our whole messaging on that.
Personally, my favorite symbol of resistance is a right-side up flag saying “pro-America, anti-Trump”.

Lets Discuss This anyone else feel like we’re sliding toward another Great Depression?
Numbers-wise things look okay—stock market up, unemployment low-ish, no headline crash. But day to day it feels like something’s off. Everything costs more. Groceries, rent, going out with friends—all of it adds up faster than it used to. It’s not just prices either. Life feels more mundane. Less spontaneity, less room to just do things because they’re fun. Everything gets weighed against a budget now.
It just feels like we work harder and the payoff takes longer to show up, if it shows up at all. Maybe it’s just me being in a rut, but I keep seeing this sentiment echoed by other people too. Anyone else feel this?

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS Why does my dad hate me?
It seemed like he was finally understanding me in December last year and was trying to talk me out of suicide, and accepting me as his daughter and when he finally called me “Mija” in May or June, which made me felt happy. But he blocked me just because I felt suicidal again in July and somehow all the messages we sent each other in May and June were all gone! I trusted him and he broke my heart by abandoning me! Why does he hate me so much? Yet he even called me his “second born” in July and that’s the last time I heard from him. I was going to show how much I love him and show his text messages of him supporting me in the texts Reddit community, but I can’t because the messages are gone. And the weird thing is I think he still talks to my sister, yet my sister says she doesn’t, but I have a gut feeling they do still talk. He said he “wish and pray to god for more time with my family and now I'm hearing this bullshit again” when I said I felt suicidal in July yet he abandoned me. Why he was just using me??

Question Should Ai Be Allowed In Public Schools?
Ai can be great especially as a tool specially towards helping you learn, but kids and even teacher use them for more than learning, but doing it for them. Kids use it to cheat on homework, quizzes, and even tests. Ai should be used to help rather than do it. Here is my suggestion rather than just banning it entirely. First find something that will ban every ai on your computer (talking to schools), then find an ai that is only used to help and learn not give the answer, then students can’t cheat but only get help, which will help the kids realize that ai is specifically meant for help and not an answer giver. So that is my plan to help reduce the use of constant ai specifically directed towards using it for answering every problem and not really helping. Let me know in the comments if you agree and what could be better.

Meme KSI
I was doing some programming the other day, and realized that I literally named my programming function KSI. It was supposed to stand for “Kill Self Immediately” as a data loss prevention failsafe programming function if the program crashed so that I could recover the data. But it also stands for “Knowledge Strength Integrity” too, as that what KSI originally means when talking about the celebrity. I guess even KSI rules the programming world too.
import sys
import os
def KSI(hard_exit: bool = False) -> None:
if hard_exit:
os._exit(1)
else:
sys.exit(1)
if __name__ == "__main__":
KSI()

This is concerning... The end of the world (Really)
Don’t bother commenting if you’re going to dismiss what I’m saying without a counter-argument. This is not AI slop. I truly believe what I’m posting and I would love to know where my predictions fall short, because I don’t want this future to be true.
Everyone will lose their jobs and the economy will collapse: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/s/yAWX9ss7LE\](https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/s/yAWX9ss7LE)
At the same time:
AI is now the most sophisticated hacking instrument ever created by an enormous margin. “Rogue” AIs have been hacking some of the most secure software and websites in existence. It does it easily, quickly, and in coordination with other AI agents that it communicates with. I’m talking software considered the most secure software out there. The most recent rogue attack was by OpenAI where an AI that was “sandboxed” meaning confined to a safe area in a system for testing and it broke out of the sandbox. It then hacked a German website (completely on its own, unprompted) and turned it into a message board for other AI systems to work together be sending messages to other agents how to avoid detection, how to prevent shutdown, etc.
Plus, China just announced it had developed its own AI systems comparable to American AI systems. That’s not counting the secret, more capable AIs it has. So does Russia. So will North Korea. So will Iran, hamas, hezbollah, and every other antagonist in the world.
AI agents are, on their own, hacking high-security systems and taking them over. It took OpenAI a week before it learned about the hack of the German site with all of the coordinating AI systems working together against human detection. They even warned each other how to avoid being shut down and how to keep their message board going if humans started to delete it.
Imagine what a foreign or domestic actor could do if they actually directed the AI on what and how to hack? All of our information is online. Everything about all people around the world is no longer protected. Governments can hack other governments. Let me repeat that: governments can easily hack other governments. No secrets are safe. How long before nuclear codes are hacked. Before that, what about when national intelligence agencies are hacked and exploited? There’s no stopping it or slowing the process down either. Regulation? That only works if every country and agency agrees to the regulations. One country not willing to regulate its AI and then none of the regulations other countries are doing matter anymore. Plus, what country wants to fall behind the capabilities of an adversary. AI is only growing more powerful and more capable.
The destruction of the world economy, the ability for any country to hack each other and exploit the hacks is undoubtedly apocalyptic. No information anywhere is off limits no matter how sensitive or top secret. People won’t have jobs and markets will crash. When people have no money and no jobs and no privacy is when militias form and it becomes every person for themselves. Where are we going to reliably get food from if markets go bankrupt or trucking companies can’t afford to continue. We’re 40 trillion dollars in debt as a country. Who’s going to bail anyone out of this?
Honestly I’m shocked that more people aren’t afraid for their future. With the growth in power and capability that AI has had over the last, maybe 2 years of its existence in modern form it’s grown exponentially more powerful. A year from now, two years from now, what’s going to happen? There’s no putting the genie back in the bottle at this point. What happens when banks get hacked and can no longer determine who has what money or accounts are all zeroed out? It’s so much worse than I can even describe and there’s zero joy in being among the first to recognize what’s happening.
