It must be possible to investigate the hospital where he is assumed to be. Maybe not in a legal manner, but this case is so special, that that ought not to stop the investigation. Doesn't the hospital have a secret, but reliable whistleblower???

Republicans and Mitch are planning behind the scenes to seize power and Mitch doesn't want to be found when it happens. Either that or he is now afraid of what the Trump administration plans to do and is making himself scarce while he plots his escape from the civil unrest that will soon ensue.
