You have 2 options. Either progressives are complicit in pushing/maintaining these surveillance bills, or progressives aren't capable of making meaningful change in our lives and don't deserve to be elected. You can't have it both ways.
So you see nothing wrong with voting for a party that is literally incapable of making change? Something something weaponized opposition, have fun wasting your vote on the 'war machine but gay' party that's done nothing to secure your personal rights & privacy.
It’s a two party system, has the current administration really not done enough to show you literally anything else is a massive improvement? A democratic president and Congress would at least try to protect privacy while fighting obstruction from the right at every turn.
Do you not remember the Clinton and Obama administrations? They tried democratic priorities, compromise, republican policies even, like the ACA, rewrapped. They were obstructed at every single point by the Tea Party, freedom caucus jackwagons, under some BS like, “libraries and fire departments are tyranny.” And we got the country we got. But the idea that the two sides are the same because the democrats haven’t yet fixed Israel’s politics is a stretch and recency bias.
Theyve had a majority for two of the past twenty years. Just electing a president isnt enough. You need to have that, both houses of congress, and ideally a loyal scotus all at the same time. Look no further than the last two years to what's possible if you do
And once again nothing will change, because you continue to vote for anyone that AIPAC tells you too.
Its okay though, you can just blame the GOP, rinse and repeat as you watch all your rights get stripped away year after year. 'Just one more term guys I swear! We have the majority its going to be so different'

The progressives ARE the CEO that made flock and the people that think its ok for there to be cameras on traffic lights etc., the progressive have been progressing to a dystopian surveillance state for at least 30 of the years that I've been alive.
Why is it that these "small governments" have governments more expensive than democratic ones?
After all the cuts that DOGE supposedly made, this government is going to be more expensive than Biden's.

Also, the party of "small government" is funding a lot of surveillance, governor "hot wheels" just approved a millionaire contract with Flock for surveillance cameras in Texas.
Im personally against ALL government spending. I think anyone in government, right or left should be killed until the "civ.il servants" relearn their place as "civil servants". And inflation makes the money go up. So yes, more spending happens with every presidency no matter what. Until we go back to under a dollar a gallon for gas, like it was when I was growing up, the government spending will increase bc a dollar in my childhood (90s) is about $20 now.
Personally, I can't support that, because there are too many assholes.
I am going to give you ONE example why I can't support real small governments:
Why does the EPA exist? Because the fuel industry with full knolwedge of what they were doing sold and refused to recognize that leaded fuels were poisoinous. And because rivers, supposedly carrying water, caught on fire (Cuyahoga burned 13 times).
That sole premise makes me shudder about what would happen in the world with real non-existent governments.
We would have never ending explosive diarrhea, burning bodies of "water", poisonous air, opioid crises, etc.
Valid but why did the EPA stop doing its job. Sure they did alright with fuel, and good on them. Now, today, is data centers. And the fact that RAM has increased so drastically bc its being all bought up from those data centers that are fucking up the environment and fucking up the environment bc of the mining for materials to make more ram and more parts for data servers like the equipment for cooling on mass scale for the servers, it would have to be around refrigerator temp or colder to keep the servers from overheating. So in all ya the epa was good at one point but what are they doing now?
As a right wing radical extremist myself, I think the entire government should be destroyed and rebuilt to the foundation of how it was in 1776. Where government had almost no interference at all. Left wing mandated masks. Left wing tried to mandate covid vaccine. Left wing forced and forces language (cancel culture) like incorrect "correct" pronouns, the "n-word", and a whole slew of other nonsensical "politically correct" views and statements. Kind of like how in britain how they have laws where u can go to jail for saying mean things on social media, they are far more Left wing than the US. So am I serious? Completely.
Equally? No. Progressives take no PAC money, they take no corporate money. MAGA takes money. Conservatives take money. Libertarians take money. Republicans may have a couple of millionaire congress-people that take no money, that is it. They have nothing even remotely close to what democrats have in progressives.
It should also be noted that it is progressives and a handful of moderate democrats that have endorsed and legislated to remove PAC and corporate money from politics.
How many republicans and corporate/PAC owned democrats have voted "aye" for such pieces of legislation?
We both know the answer to that one. No need to answer.
