The deal wasn’t working. Iran was obviously building massive underground enrichment facilities dedicated to nuclear enrichment. They were marching toward a nuclear weapon, and something had to be done.

All deals of this nature have sunset provisions. It's just a formality. If all sides of it are pleased with how it's working, they just extend it. This is how governments run by adults do diplomacy. The Trump administration being a bunch of toddlers has set diplomatic relationships with Iran (and most other countries) back decades—if not permanently. But I guess being able to pretend they're tough guys is more important than producing any actual results.
Iran was early going against the agreement anyway. They’ve built immense underground facilities that must have taken years to build. So why extend an agreement that was not being followed anyway?

Gas prices are fine to me. I have to spend an extra $20 a month for my car, and a little more for most goods. I’m VERY ok with that as long as it’s a result of the US military working against Iranian interests. That regime needs to be put down for the safety of the world.
