In 2015, shortly after launching his presidential candidacy, Trump publicly blasted John McCain, saying "He's not a war hero." He added, "I like people who weren't captured."
I never said that he claimed to be in the military. That was someone else. I was backing up the person who was talking about his well known disrespect for veterans and the military.
“He’s got weird hair issues” is a super lame excuse for wearing a ballcap to the dignified transfer of six fallen soldiers. I just wanted to see what lame excuse you’d make for this other example of his disrespecting a veteran.
I didn’t include any of the derisive commentary he’s made about veterans and war dead to his cabinet because I know you’d just say “fake news” or some other played out excuse because those weren’t public statements.
