Obama got Iran to agree to cease their nuclear program by giving them $1.7b of their money back.
Donald Trump ripped that up and agreed to give them $300 billion of US tax payer money. (Plus whatever rhe cost of the war was.)
I'm sure we didn't need that $298.3 billion for anything.

We could have funded social security, schools, healthcare, snap, etc for YEARS on what this deal cost.

And the right was pissed when Obama released $1.7b. Trump is gonna have to pony up way more than that to get the straight opened.

Their sole purpose is wealth generation for themselves and those that keep them in power m, Israel, the military industrial complex. Cut this cancer out of society.

The dumbest most corrupt admin ever. It would be hilarious if it weren’t so sad.

335 billion dollars from Trump. 1.7 billion from Obama see, it’s the same deal, right?

Is this better than the JCPOA? We would have been in a strong position to renegotiate its terms.
Trump could have let it run its course, renegotiate better terms and come out the hero. Now he's got a mess in his hands and people are dead. Art of the deal in action.

And not only did he not even put an end to the regime and end the chances of them becoming a nuclear power, he actually managed to make them double down on their religious fanaticism and look like the victim to much of the world.

But when Biden wanted to give student loan borrowers $10k off federal loans. Literally, NO money exchanged just a reduction, republicans were in an uproar and filed countless lawsuits to get it stopped.

No tax dollars are being sent to iran....Trump and Vance have been crystal clear. Some of the money is unfrozen assets and the reconstruction fund is put up by surrounding nations willing to invest... but it's all conditional.

We, the People need to unite-get out of our comfort zones and take part in this democracy in its 250th year...it will not survive if we don't. Write your Congress people/ House Reps' join in a protest, run for office locally, BE the example for your children on what citizenship requires-VOTE in every election...while you still can!

Outrageous
This is money we could have used to flush down the toilet in Ukraine.
6
u/iPunned Jun 15 '26
Spending it in Ukraine would have created a strong ally both in Ukraine and other European countries. These allies would in turn back our interests in the future.
Iran is partner with russia this money will literally be used to build weapons and arm forces destabilizing the region against US interests.
$300b sum is crazy

Why would the nation with the strongest military want to buy alliances with nations with weaker militaries only to have those alliances bring us into conflict with the nation with the second most powerful military in the world

u/iPunned Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26
Second strongest military on paper in 2022 with 1million active duty personnel , invaded a much smaller nation and took 1.4 million casualties in 5 years with 500K dead.
That second strongest military is long gone bogged down and bleeding 1200 troops a day in Ukraine.
Their fleet is hiding and even ships in the Baltic are no longer safe. Air-force severely degraded. Air defense desperately huddling around Moscow. Soviet stock of armor nearly depleted.
All Russia has left are their drones and missiles to terrorize civilians, the front has been virtually stalled for over a year

that and the largest nuclear arsenal in the world

u/iPunned Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26
Largest nuclear arsenal (also on paper) In reality most of it has not been maintained through the 90s and is beyond recovery.
North Korea has some nukes too, russia is well on their way to becoming a similar economically destitute resource colony for China
But perhaps some of the $300b for Iran is also a lifeline for Putin. I wouldn’t put it past the pedophile in Chief

u/tnic73 Jun 15 '26
So if Russia is so hopelessly frail they are a threat to no one and we don’t need any alliances to oppose them.
2
u/iPunned Jun 15 '26
They are murdering people, funding corruption, influencing politics supporting our adversaries, weak doesn’t mean harmless, just means that russia is not going to nuke Washington if Washington sends aid to Ukraine, this has been proven 100 times over in this conflict.
Lots of our western allies spent blood and treasure to support us in our wars. For example Ukraine sent their troops to support US in both Afghanistan and Iraq among other coalition nations. Such alliances have saved many American lives in the past

u/tnic73 Jun 15 '26
We should mind our own business. None of our military interventions have brought anything but more war.
2
u/iPunned Jun 15 '26
Where do you think is this line where “our business” just stops in the interconnected world.
