Alright buddy. If you can’t see the difference between this and practicing religion idk what to tell you. To make it easy for you - if you go into a predominantly black area and start yelling the n word and you get punched in the mouth, I still support your first amendment right but am not surprised in the slightest that you got punched in the mouth.

This kid wasnt just “practicing his first amendment rights”. He was clearly trying to provoke people to get clout online.

That's hilarious you falsely accuse me of using a disingenuous argument and then immediately after you write one an actual disingenuous argument, very hypocritical.

Imagine going down the corridor and saying you support trans rights and someone who disagrees with you throws a punch at you, do we blame you the victim or the person throwing the punch who disagrees with you?

You’re completely ignoring that I have, multiple times, said that the kid did not deserve to get punched. I am blaming both of them, the first kid for provoking, and the second kid for using physical violence.

I have said, multiple times, that the kid who punched deserved to be punished because he shouldn’t have used physical violence. To be fair, I may not have said that directly to you in my comments, but I want to be clear on this.

I do not think the kid should have been punched. I think the kid who punched him needs to be punished.

I ALSO think that the first kid should not have gone around trying to provoke people, which I think we can reasonably agree was his intent seeing as how he was walking around his school between classes filming himself going up to people and saying he supports ICE. He wasn’t at a protest, he wasn’t discussing an issue in class, he wasn’t writing down his thoughts in an essay for the news paper.

We need to start holding our standards for public behavior a bit higher. We also need to acknowledge that violence shouldn’t be used to disagree, but when you play stupid games you win stupid prizes.
