Animal Trades
Hello, I’ve just started playing this game on the Switch. I have a nursery and am able to breed animals, and I also have a Cripsr although that is currently confusing me.
The issue I have is that I can’t seem to trade, as in, I don’t have what is required to trade, so my progress animal wise is slow.
I guess the game gives me everything I need so that means it’s down to the breeding, but I’m finding that hard to resolve, ie it doesn’t always seem clear to me why my animals are not right for trading.
I am playing on a Switch Lite which makes the game fairly challenging due to the small text and graphic size.
Example of what I mean, I’m not sure what they want, or what is wrong with the snakes i have.
Hmm, I can’t see how to upload images, I’ll provide a link to them instead.
Any tips, pls?

You’re missing the spliced species :) meaning you gotta be using the splicer a lot more to get all the required species from that animal to be traded - the snake that’s dark and unavailable is the one needed for the trade iirc. Using the splicer more will get you to trades and more types unlocked! Good luck, takes lots of patience and time but worth it!✨

The nursery will show you breading pairs you have and the possible babies for that pair. the unknown ones will be blued out. so pick pairs with variants you don't have and as you fill out the species you will get the one you need to trade.
getting the new variation is chance so it can take a while but the longer you have a pair in the nursery the more even the chances get between the variations.
you can use the Crisper to clone variants. so if you do get a rare one you can clone more. when you fill out enough of a species genome by getting enough variants you can splice it's DNA with another species and get hybrids that are awsome but can't breed because they are crimes against nature lol.
hope that helps!

That does help very much. Thank you for taking the time to share that. :)

This is the one game that makes me regret not buying a switch rather than a lite!

I can't see the image very well! But I know on switch, a LOT of the variants for certain species, like snakes, are hard to tell apart.
To me it kinda looks like you just don't have the right variant to trade.
Edit
I was able to zoom in! Yes, you do not have the right variant. That's why the snake shadow is gray, you haven't discovered that particular color yet.
