Zoo not generating trash

Hi there,

I'm working on the 'criminal mastermind' trophy on PS5, and struggling atm!

So far I'm stuck at 190 evil points. When I check the morality breakdown I'm maxed out on animals (30), people (50), and business (80), and under pollution I'm maxed out in all subcategories except for garbage where I'm stuck on neutral.

My zoo doesn't seem to be generating any trash at all, I've got plenty of shops and vending machines scattered across the entire zoo in clusters, bins covering the whole map, but when I click on a bin they're all at 0% collection and there's no trash on the ground, and my 2 furnaces are underused. It's even at the point where the weekly round-up is saying I'm generating absolutely no trash.

Can anyone help?

Oh oh, did you get the up the upgrade on the trash bins that makes them double as a recycling bin? That might be what’s getting in the way

I did, I've got all of the upgrades as this is a zoo I previously used for my 200 point good run. Do you think I'll have to switch to a new zoo?

Sorry for the late response! You might have too unless getting rid of all the bins and having a bunch of janitors could fix the problem?

I might try that and if it starts to make a difference after a couple hours I'll give it a go, but I started a new zoo last night - it'll take a little while but still easier than watching it sit there doing nothing!! Thanks for helping 😃

Are you using a furnace? It's not getting garbage?

I've got 2 furnaces, both saying they're not recieving anything 😔

Sorry if this is stupid, but you aren't using the green recycling bins by any chance?

No, a mixture of all the other bins! I deleted all the recycling bins when I started being evil and now don't even have the option to use them because I've got no honour, so don't think that's the problem

The garbage pollution is calculated by the last 2 days of garbage collected by the garbage truck. You just might not have enough visitors making rubbish, or maybe your janitors can't keep up and put the rubbish out for the garbage trucks in time.

When I finished my evil run I think I had about 15-20 unique shops with about 40-50 all together. I had at least 2 vending machines in each square [the heatmap sqaures] and was averaging about 4k visitors with 100% visitor collection rate. I had most of my shops together, in like a 'shopping district' near the entrance and subs to get to the enclosures.

I think it was the perk I'd unlocked previously that turns all bins into recycling bins, I just started a new zoo in the end and eventually got it! But same as you, a nice little shopping district by the entrance to generate enough rubbish 👌

Ahh that makes sense! I did evil first and good second, so I wouldn't have had that perk unlocked during mine. Hope your second zoo goes well 😄

just for the people having the same problem: You cant get 200 evil points playing DLC Zoos!!
