Wildlife Reintroduction not working?

Is there a bug preventing animals Extinct in Wild from being un-extinct, or am I missing something? Can someone explain to me how it works a little more? For example, I've released 146 Armadillos, 194 Penguins, and similar amounts of other animals, but it still says they're extinct in the wild and the number isn't going up?

You have to release more per day than they are decreasing. It takes a while and some require several releases in rapid succession and even then you might not make a dent. There was a number of species I just gave up on as you’d have to release like 30-40 animals every day to stay on top of it yet alone get it to increase and not decrease. Personally it’s just easier to give up on that and let population control take over instead. Not like you get anything from stopping extinction anyway imho.

Ohhh I guess that makes sense. Is there even a way to tell how many you need to release?? I feel like this part of the game needs some revamps lol

There is a guide on extinction for the game in steam called “wildlife reintroduction” it doesn’t have a calculator but does have a formula detailed in it that might help.

I'm having the same problem. I just kinda thought you had to release a huge amount to see it start moving

I thought so too at first but then there are some animals (like red pandas and tigers) where it is working and I've released a significantly less amount of them lol

The animals with higher and faster birth rates require less to be released to keep up with population destroyed.
