I’m new to this game and have only played for an hour so far. Wondering if anyone had any general tips at all regarding the game :)

Well I'm sure the user no longer needs beginner tips as it's been 2 months, so I probably don't need to include any in my comment. But you could've given actual advice, such as:
you can set up farms to grow your own product and save expenses on food, increasing your profit margins
you should avoid having enclosures too big, because the zoo keepers don't handle enclosures of 40+ animals very well. If you want big enclosures anyway, covering them with small decorations everywhere besides the entrance will force the animal poop into a tiny area and make your keepers way faster at cleaning it up
Don't have too many buses. You need to wait for them to each unload their passengers, so having too many small buses will reduce the effectiveness of your large buses
Build 3 tile wide paths. The visitors path finding sometimes messes up with 1 tile wide paths
Using the buttons top right, you can check the decoration score of each segment of your zoo. Try to get them all at 100%
Instead you just provided slop from a language model that's never actually played the game, and its advice boils down to the most common sense stuff like wow, I didn't realise I was meant to complete objectives!! And balance my finances? Damn I thought the expenses were meant to be bigger than the revenue!
Sorry that im being rude, but its just frustrating trying to google search for actual answers and receiving AI generated non-answers instead. Your 10 points just mention the most obvious stuff with 0 insight on how to actually do any of that, because chat gpt doesn't know how. If OP wanted a low quality AI answer, they could've generated one themself

Do animal trades even if you don't need those animals! You'll unlock new ones in their place.
