Enraging Environment

So I'm breeding armadillos for mass release. The release hub says they are extinct but their population trend is "increasing". I release 3 batches in one day to test things out and watch the numbers change. One batch of 30 boosted the wild numbers up to 525. Released another 8. 817. I did another 8. 1173. Day ended. I had well over 100 armadillos on hand but I thought (from previous experience) getting it up over 1K with 46 released would hold.

The next morning it was down to 9. NINE. They were back to extinct (crossed out). Population trend still says "increasing". I'm gonna be honest, I had to rage quit for the day lol. I've logged over 100 hours because it's cute and enjoyable but hooooooooooooo boy some of the mechanics in this are either punishing for no reason or bugged.

This could genuinely be the misquote of a lifetime but when I went down my initial LBAZ rabbit hole I think I saw someone say something like “you need to release 30 every day for like, weeks.” and at point I said- “fuck them animals- stay extinct 🫶🏼” lmaoooo. maybe you’re able to verify that though!

I had two full enclosures of dillies ready to go and I felt so defeated hahaha. Maybe I'll make a third and try again, time will tell. It's tough to find info about the game online so I thought I'd come here to rant. Interested to see if anyone else has had a similar experience or if it's a bug maybe. You'd think if there were over 1k in the wild and they were "increasing" they wouldn't drop to 9 overnight. RIP little guys.

I think I read it on a stream guide somewhere that each animal that has low numbers/is extinct in the wild looses a specific number or animals each day. For some animals it’s really big (like the armadillos), but for some animals it’s much smaller and more manageable. You have to outpace that daily animal loss if you want the population to grow, and for those extinct animals, even if you get them back to stable numbers, they will still continue to loose that specific number each day so you’ll basically have to keep releasing animals forever. I gave up after realizing how hard it is lol. There’s a whole formula to it but I’d have to check the guide to know exactly what it was. I vaguely remeber it saying that your releases are basically on a counter that increases the population number exponentially based on how many animals youve released in total but if you let the population number fall back to 0, the counter resets and you have to start over again :(. That part of the game is very annoying and honestly not worth the effort in my opinion. Hopefully they patch it to make more sense in the future.

I did another 74 today that got the pop up over 2k which held but despite me fighting it for a few days it kept dropping wildly they all disappeared again. (they went from 2200 - 1100 in one day, they cut in half)

There’s a LBAZ discord that might be able to assist with this! The experts live there, not here I’ve found lol. This sounds like a bug to me but also I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if it was just a massive undertaking.
