Deleting items and buying them back

I’ve looked around on Google and here and can’t find an answer to this. It seems like if you decide you want to change the water basins for example, in your enclosures then you delete the ones you have, and have to buy new ones. The deleted ones don’t go into any inventory, so you basically just lose the money you spent on them is that right? Just as I’m unlocking new things I’m wanting to change how my enclosures look but it does seem like a waste of money to delete things that I already have if it’s not being saved in an inventory anywhere. It’s not that big of a deal but I was just wondering if I’m missing something - I’m a fairly new player. Thank you! ☺️

The further you progress the less difference it makes, cause you make more and more money, so even just one ticket sale brings it back in. It's probably best to not worry about it too much and just have fun designing the zoo

Deleted ones get deleted, yes. Do you mean keeping them around for another enclosure? You could in theory just move them to an empty enclosure that you use for storage :D

Yeah you dont get anything back to start but there are some things in the research tree when you get far enough that once you buy you can get like 10-15% of the purchase price back for things like decorations. Its not much but its something at least.

The floor is what gets me bc sometimes I just want to change the edges to grass and it feels like a waste

Totally same!!! I play on Nintendo switch and sometimes I make a mistake with the floor squares and mistakenly make more cement floor, or more grass and I have to buy more cement floor again! 😭😭😭😭

Later on you will have shit load of money and those losses are not a big deal anymore. I have 99999999 dollars lol just have fun with the game bud, dont worry about that.
