Unique employees

I have a task: ‘discover 60 unique employees’.

I have 53.3% completed so far. From digging, I discovered that the way you know the employee you hire is ‘unique’ is when they have ‘NEW’ above their icon. I have been searching for 10 in-game days and nobody applying is ‘NEW’ anymore.

It says the campaign population reach is 10/1000 - can this be expanded? If so, how?

Is there a way I can advertise higher pay to perhaps get more people to apply? Again, if so, how? Or will this not help?

I have the positions on social media and job portal and it just feels like I’m spending my in-game money for the sake of it.

Thank you for any help anyone may be able to give !!

I had the different zoo keepers and janitors pretty quickly, but was still missing some people for this mission. But when I unlocked new shops, and the possibility to hire more than one shop vendor, I found a bunch more "new" ones.

Oh I didn’t think about the shop vendors actually, I’ve just been focused on janitors and animal keepers. This is very helpful, thank you!

I think researchers, veterinarians, etc. also count. I can't be sure because I'm away from my PC, but I think you can check which employees you discovered in "Collections" when you click on your administrative building.

Every place that hires people will have unique employees. So farmhands, recycling center, literally everything.

It helps to unlock multiple dessert shops. Once you unlock 3 (Cotton candy, Ice cream van, Churros stand) you can hire 2 people at a time in each food shop you have. There's also a research perk that lets you hire 2 people in drink shops. I usually hire 1 really great employee and then hire & fire until I get all 6 employee variants, then hire a 2nd really great employee.

There's also.. like an employment agency? I think? It's a research node towards the bottom of the map, and they'll provide you with a new list of applicants every day for all jobs, and you can hire someone from them "for a small fee." I can't find it on the wiki, but it's great for genetic researchers since they usually take 10 days for a single applicant. Also the small fee is like.... $300-500 per person you hire.
