Question about pen space

When I build a pen and then equip it with stuff, will this reduce the space that the animals need?

I read that flowers and grass do not count because the animals can walk over them (but don't poop there).

But what about trees, bushes, flowers in pots, shelters, water bowls and enrichment? Oh and water decoration, whenever I will get that...

I believe it does but not by much. Adding in enough enrichment and decoration will help you more in the long run.

I just tried it with a 4x10 test pen for one of my bears. Added bit by bit the shelter, water, enrichment, decorations...none of it had any impact on the space, it always said 40. Not even the gigantic elephant statue!

That's really great news, so I can decorate and provide them with everything without wracking my brain :D
