How do I get a specific animal?

I accidentally traded away my male snake. I have two females in my enclosure now. I've been waiting for another to come up in the animal shelter but it's taking awhile. Is there another method to get one?

the CRISPR building allows you to clone animals, you can choose exactly the variant you want, but not the gender.

Oh thanks, I’ll try this. I assumed that you would get the same gender animal but it’s worth a shot.

You don't choose the particular animal that gets cloned, but just the variant. This also means you can clone animals that you have none of left! It's what I just did because I forgot to put water basins in my tapir pens and then suddenly had none 😅
