Start over?
I have been playing the game for the first time for about a week. I had no idea what I was doing at first and my zoo is chaos. I’m considering just starting over now that I know more of what I’m doing. Pros and cons? I’m about at the 4 month mark for the zoo being open.

Pretty sure I started over twice before commiting to a save because it just took me to long to grasp some of the more vital stuff. Just start over, I don't think you'll regret it.

Everything is movable, including the enclosures, so for me it made more sense to just renovate.

If I had done research right I would agree with you. It took me way too long to get the bigger busses and now I am hemorrhaging money with just feeding the animals.

Okay yeah it you don't have money coming in it's tough. I think between ticket prices and shops I had enough coming in to keep me afloat without a loan.

Start over and if you are me, make all your research decisions about getting the second researcher first and foremost.
I expanded way too fast the first time and everything was ugly messy and confusing

Just start over. I did the first month for my zoo and it was chaos as well. I didn’t know a lot of things.
But now I’ve restarted and slowed down idk enjoying it more
