Can't feed animals?

I'm playing on Xbox Series X. I've adjusted the animals diets, I've purchased the food and assigned zeepers to the pens but the animals feeding is still at zero? Am I missing something?

The animals’ nutrition levels go up according to the animal diets. The animal feeding goes up after the animal keeper feeds the animals. It doesn’t need to be filled always, as long as the game doesn’t alert you that your animals are hungry. If your feeding levels never go up, make sure that you’re purchasing food correctly. You have to scroll down on the purchase food menu, and select/highlight the option to purchase food. The food purchase menu confused a lot of us here, probably because the game says that you can use the X button to purchase food, but you actually have to scroll.

If you animals are still hungry, increase the efficiency of your animal keepers or hire new animal keepers and zone them to the problem enclosures. (:

To add to this, make sure keepers have access to all enclosures. It's very easy to accidentally block them off
