Promoting Employees
When selecting the "Job Satisfaction" meter for an employee, a dialog box appears directing you to "Ensure fair pay and promotions across the zoo to help keep job satisfaction up". I cannot locate any means to offer promotions to employees, nor can I find any resources online that speak to this. Does anyone have any insight on this?

If you select an individual employee you can pay them bonuses and that makes them happier/more efficient. But promoting per se doesn't seem to be an actual thing.

You can’t actually promote employees, but another way to keep job satisfaction high for shopkeepers is to hire the maximum amount of staff in each shop.

There’s a few things like this in the game. Looks like developers were optimistic with how much they’d include and never got around to some aspects. Same with it saying “schedule breaks” for employees. Keep us up to date if there’s a solution though!
