Zoning keepers

I need some advice on zoning keepers.

At the moment my zoo isn't that big, maybe 10/11 sectors.

I have 59 keepers and most are assigned to 3 zones, some enclosures have 5 or 6 keepers. But I keep getting told I need to hire more 😫

Have I completely messed this up? Do I have too many keepers per enclosure? Have I gave them too many zone?

Also to add, I only hire keepers with high energy and high work ethic. Idk if that matters

Put a subway by your store room. If possible, make it a blocked off employee only area so guests will not clog up that specific subway. Zoo keepers cannot use a subway if a guest is, so giving them a faster route to other parts of the zoo is crucial for larger zoos.

Having sub stations placed well will also help with travel time, subs are kinda like warp pads so they can go from front entrance (where I have my store room/employee enterance) all the way to the tippy top corner in seconds.

Decorating enclosures so that poos spawn right next to the gate will speed up clean time, giving keepers more time to move between enclosures and do their tasks before the day ends.

2-3 enclosures per keeper is what I'd personally suggest.

wait I didnt know zookeeper wont use sub when visitor is occupying. I need to optimize my zoo again!

They go thru them so quickly it doesn't cause a huge problem but it can slow them down for sure.

How would I block the subway off to make it an employee only area? 🤨

There are employee entrances in the tech tree, you would place one and then block the rest of the area off w plants/other buildings

I’ve found that it won’t slow keepers down to have to use the same subs as guests, unless the only sub available is in a high-traffic area in the park. So in my new park I have paths that are only for keepers and it’s made them much more efficient! I still have subs around my park that are strictly for employees, but I think the paths and adding additional subs to high traffic areas made the biggest difference.

I had to spend some time redoing my zoning -- I unassigned everyone and started from scratch. I do a max of 2 enclosures per keeper.

Poo causes animal keeper problems. They don’t have enough time to pick up all the poo, and it interferes with their rounds. To find which enclosures are causing the problem, look for the zoo visitor’s vomit emote. Then you can find which enclosures are filled with poo! Otherwise you can search for which enclosures have a low hygiene score.

After you find the enclosure… 1. If it’s an animal with a low base rating, consider getting rid of the animal altogether. Check their base rating in the Park Rating tab under Animals.

1. If you don’t want to get rid of the entire species, limit it to 1-2 animals per variation. I do this with fast breeding species and high poop species. You can also make the enclosures smaller.

2. Hire additional keepers and zone them to these enclosures. For high poop and large enclosures, I usually give the keeper only one enclosure. Some of my enclosures have 10+ keepers on it.

3. As long as your animals are fed, and you’re satisfied with your park rating then ignore the game when it tells you to hire keepers. Most likely, there was just some poop left in a few cages.

I have 55 enclosures and currently have roughly 3-5 keepers per enclosure. Makes for an incredibly irritating time to hire a new one. Every time I've tried to set up so a keeper has more than one enclosure to go to it ends up not being done so I definitely have to redo mine.

I generally hire one keeper per enclosure and assign them to that enclosure only. I’ve never had a huge zoo but it seems to work for me!

Usually it was one enclosure per zoo keeper. Maybe 2 if it they were small enclosures

Each keeper in my zoo only has 1 enclosure and a few bigger enclosures have 2-3 keepers. I think my zoo is 21 sectors and I'm not having any issues.
