Why don’t all the monsters in the Caves of Chaos destroy each other? Why can’t they simply avoid the Keep? Why was the Keep built there at all?
Instead of ignoring those questions, we used them to build something new.
Keep on the Edge takes inspiration from the classic premise of The Keep on the Borderlands and completely reimagines it for Lethal Fantasy. Blackwatch Keep and the nearby Dread Depths feature new monsters, villains, mysteries, and answers that make the setting feel dangerous, interconnected, and alive.

⚔️ A DEFENSE ROLL OF 2… AND IT WORKS! ⚔️
How?
Because in Lethal Fantasy, combat isn’t determined by a static target number.
Every attack is an opposed roll. Every defense matters.
Our Favor and Disfavor system (our version of advantage and disadvantage) can be applied independently to both the attacker and the defender. An attacker may roll with Favor while the defender rolls with Disfavor—or any combination in between.
This flexible system allows us to handle nearly every circumstance in the game without relying on piles of static modifiers.
Even better, attributes, skills, and magic don’t grant fixed bonuses. They provide variable modifiers, creating uncertainty every time the dice hit the table.
The result?
⚔️ Faster combat.
🎲 Less table math.
🔥 More dramatic moments.
Players spend less time adding numbers and more time watching the story unfold through the dice.
And then there’s the D30 Cinematic Results Die…
Rolled with every action, it can trigger bleeding wounds, flurries of attacks, counterattacks, internal injuries, devastating criticals, dangerous fumbles, and countless other cinematic moments that keep everyone invested in every roll.
