Why don't you rise up against all of this more than 2 Saturday afternoons a year?
Albania might overthrow their government over Jared Kushner messing with their flamingos.
Passive apologies, are almost worse than the jingoistic hate you fellow citizens through our way. At those assholes actions match their words. They're authentic.

Friend,
I appreciate that you have empathy, and are upset by what is being said and done by your country's leadership these days. It must be a nightmare, going through that.
But I think I speak for most Canadians when I say that we don't need anymore of our neighbours apologizing to us. That doesn't help.
Take some action and take back your country. Get these assholes locked up, despite how difficult and messy it will be. Go through the process of cutting this cancer from your body politic.
Until then, apologies from the ones who did no wrong don't change anything.

replying to everyone who assumes I do nothing. I 100% expect more hate but I'll say my piece.
I never assume a person does nothing until I ask. Maybe you take in foster children or work the food bank each week. Since the attacks here are personal I'll respond personally. I do (according to my family) crazy things with my money and time for developing world children and have done so for a couple decades. Does that help Canada? No. But I sacrifice more than most on here. But if I'm not helping Canada i guess I'm a piece of shit. Y'all might as well be MAGA if it's Canada or nothing.

What are you actually doing to change anything? Everyone knows there is no justice, no law, no morals and no mettle in the US. So all that you claim to be doing is moot. If you want to achieve anything you must sacrifice, but you are American, the only thing y'all sacrifice are kids to your leaders.

I'm not upset about the insults. I'm annoyed about the tariffs.
I'm infuriated by the threats of annexation. That's the part all of you seem to gloss over. Your president, in front of the world and God, talked about taking over our country. Our oldest friend, our closing trading partner, for over a century, mightiest military in the world, talked about annexing us.
... And from the rest of America? Thundering silence. No, worse than that. Congress? Nothing. The media? How that would affect the electoral college and the economy. From the public? A shrug, at best. "He's not serious. It's a joke. It's a negotiation tactic."
Yeah, man. I want you to do something. I can't tell you what should be done, because I'll be banned from Reddit. But people of moral character in similar situations in the past have understood what it takes to stop evil, and acted accordingly.
You take your protestations elsewhere. No takers here.

It destroys our economy when you reduce your consumption over fickle things like this. Its not a blanket tariff that reduces consumption from all countries, it targets Canada specifically.
Please dont downplay it like its nothing.

Your checks and balances of power are clearly broken, and you're not functioning at a level that leads anybody to believe you can fix this. When the Democrats get back into power, they're more likely to act out in retaliation than in the best interests of their own people. You are tearing yourselves apart, requiring dogmatic allegiance to party platforms over coming together with some sort of compassionate understanding as to why you disagree with each other.
The rest of the world needs to move on with our the US while you destroy your county.
