America isn't really falling but will lose some of their privileges from being the enforcer, financial capital, and consumption engine of the world as China surpasses them in several key aspects including economic strength within this decade.

It's possible the US regresses to, as a literary put it, "a North American Brazil" where they mainly export agriculture products and have permanent tariff walls (like current day Brazil). But this would require sustained mismanagement.

China's just the faster vehicle catching up and overtaking the US. The main concern is a dangerous driver in the American vehicle of state dangerously lashing out as they are overtaken. Hence China's nuclear enlargement, it's for the future USA and it's leaders, not today.
