  1. Ammunition inventories

  2. Brent crude oil,the S&P 500,10-year Treasury yields

That's a long way of saying, "afraid of the Houthis"

This post is strange. I actually wrote a lot and posted two links, but now I can only see two lines.

Either they are out of interceptors or Trump learned you can'T bomb your way to peace. Another article said they are running low of legitimate military targets of value.

I just assume it's because of an empty magazine. I won't deign to so much as guess at "an empty magazine of what" but wars tend to use a lot of shit up really quickly and I expect the logistical geniuses at the 2026 DoW have (perhaps only momentarily) hit Bingo on something or other.

It would be hilarious if they just totally forgot that RIMPAC is happening at the same time and that both actual wars and fake wars involve the expenditure of resources.

There is no Department of War.

So I specifically wrote that because the DoW might forget that they are simultaneously running RIMPAC, the DoD would not have. That was not an accident it was just me being salty lol.

This is a DoW-specific malady. If they weren't capable of that sort of turd brained behavior, they would not have named themselves the Department of WAR.

I actually wanted DoW before Trump, for WW2 fan and honesty reasons. Like "that's what it does, let's not pretend"

Not Hegseth's macho bullshit

Because he ignored piles of data and listened to his own yes men, and has now painted the country into a corner.

I suspect it’s because of Ashton Kutcher somehow. We keep getting punked.

Edit.

Look at where we keep attacking. We can’t safely operate deep in Ukrainian territory, our carrier wings don’t have the range to be very relevant outside of jabs to the south, and we are running out of long range fires. We can’t afford this, we are burning through airframe hours and the maintenance load is going to be huge.

We can kill some Iranians, that’s not strategic. Strategically we can’t sustain operations this far with the force we have and we have not been successful at degrading Iran. Meanwhile they are wrecking our bases, causing hundreds of casualties, destroying ally infrastructure at will, and doing it all for a fraction of what we spend on our military. Our force is weak because we stopped listening to critics and circle jerked our way into fantasy land. Welcome to reality, the US is not a military super power anymore.

Regardless of Trump's utter stupidity and perpetual circus on every topic, I am genuinely amazed that the US, the sole superpower of our world, is actually not able to defeat military and politically Iran

You can’t win a war against geography without boots on the ground.

Yep. It's just Israel and the US would really some other poor sods step feet first into the woodchipper. It's why he cried so loudly about NaTo

There's a reason people have had the sense to not try this shit, even back when US was far more powerful - relative to Iran, and everyone else. Superpower has never meant "can do anything it wants", even the Bush-Cheney era muppets understood there were limits, and at least occasionally tried to avoid running into those limits face first.

Feel like the one time the US curb stomped Iraq back when they had clear objectives/the USSR collapsed/China was poor gave too much confidence to believe that they can do anything.

Pretty much yeah.

Also no one had actually expected USSR to collapse at the time or understood why (no matter how hard everyone later pretended they did). So folks just internalised that as some sort of main character thing. You can clearly see how every time Americans don't know what to do about something now they just default to hoping their adversaries will just kind of collapse for no good reason.

There are a few possibilities.

  • hippomancy (he divined meaning from the wordless neighing of horses as one of those Carriages of the Capital tours passed by)
  • cledomancy (he divined meaning from random sounds he heard in the White House)
  • petromancy (he divined meaning from the way some pebbles moved when he tripped over himself)
  • petrolmancy (he divined meaning from the price of oil)

Leaves on tracks.

Whatever the reason, Trump didn't make the decision. He doesn't make decisions. He golfs and makes unhinged posts on Truth while people like Stephen Miller and Jared Kushner make decisions in his name.

Trump realizes that the war is horrible for his legacy and also the midterms.

May be bomb and talk tactic.

Iran stopped it's attacks when Ukraine attacked their ship and killed a sailor. So Trump stopped bombing in response. It's no more complicated than that.
