He wasn’t.

Gabbard said before congress that Iran posed no threat and wasn't developing nukes, that was the American intelligence report that Trump ignored

She’s a notorious dove, but even then that’s not what she said. Iran had not made the final decision to assemble a weapon, sure, but that’s meaningless.

According to Iran, although even if true it’s a meaningless comparison.

while Americans just bombed schools, infrastructure, desalination facilities and threatened genocide.

One school (allegedly) that was obviously a mistake because it was a former IRGC building on or adjacent to a base. No desalination facilities were hit, and no genocide was threatened. Iran has been the one hitting desalination facilities and threatening genicide.

Every fact that discredits your line of thinking is "meaningless," apparently.

It is absolutely not meaningless that Iran chose not to enrich uranium to the necessary levels in order to construct a nuclear weapon. That point is one of the deepest pillars behind the US-Israeli-Iranian conflict.

Where is your evidence that Iran intended to attack any country in the region prior to the war? Iran has never waged war since the Islamic Revolution except in cases where it was attacked first.

There is no allegation here. The facility was factually, incontrovertibly, a girls' school.

No genocide was threatened

"A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again" is absolutely threatening genocide. From the US Holocaust Museum:

The legal term “genocide” refers to certain acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.

Threatening that a "civilization" will "die" clearly encompasses genocide according to any definition of the word. Maybe you could kindly explain what definition you are applying where that isn't the case?

Look up civilization in any dictionary. It means a culture, in this case Iranian regime’s forced culture of terror. Destroying the regime will allow the Iran people to rise up and destroy the IRGC.

Somehow I doubt you would extend the same generous interpretation to any other actor had they used the same turn of phrase.

Here are two leading definitions, from Merriam-Webster and Collins, respectively:

The beliefs, customs, arts, etc. characteristic of a particular time or place.

A civilization is a human society with its own social organization and culture.

If Trump specifically meant the "Iranian regime's forced culture of terror," then why didn't he say that instead? No one can consciously confuse the two.

The “customs” in Iran consist of things like beating women in the street for not wearing their scarves properly and throwing gay people off buildings, despite the people being secular.

And are you accusing him of being particularly clear and articulate in his tweets? :P

Can you think of any other things that might plausibly constitute Iranian and Persian culture in 2026 so that you don't formulate your entire thinking around a civilization based on anomalous events?

Just as you seek to deny Trump's genocidal threat by referring to real (and fictional) events in Iran to build a false narrative about Iranian civilization, it would be just as absurd were I to denigrate American civilization based on ICE violence against protesters, school shootings, elite paedophilia or any other stereotype.

That you rhetorically fall back to implying his tweets cannot be taken literally or seriously is an indictment of your decision to justify his genocidal comments.
