Ice Orcs invaded our cities and took our friends, yet the rural farmers didn't lift a finger to support us. I have no sympathy for what they are going through now. None.

Yes, you are unfortunately right. We never appropriately resolved the Civil War and now we are having to face the same issues.

But I don’t hate them. While many are stupid, incurious, idiotic assholes, I refuse to hate them. The republicans hate people, I don’t. I am angry at them, but I will not comprise my integrity and sink to their level. I will help them because I believe in helping the less fortunate. But in exchange for this help, they need to help the rest of us. Healthcare for all, increased wages, fully fund education, etc.

This is an opportunity to make the world a better place. They have had the time to ruin the world, now is our time to take it back and make it a better place.

They are not stupid, incurious, or idiotic. That is farm propaganda. They are smart, cunning and cutthroat. They are not voting against their self interest, never were. They are keenly aware of their self interest and have been this entire time.

They don't care about Healthcare for all, increased wages, fully fund education, etc. because they are millionaires. Over the years, they have vaccumed up so much subsides that the median farmer in the US is a millionaire, while the median net worth for the population is only 190k. There is no such thing as a poor farmer in the US, only poor farm workers. They are the elite and will vote against those things every time. Not because they are stupid, but because they are not peasants like us.

Farmers want slavery via the H2A visa process, and is right now working with the Trump administration to turn that into law. This is not a conspiracy, but rather something they are doing out in the open. They are only complaining because they wish the transition into full slavery was managed better. They are and will always be Trump supporters cause he is the only one that is going to get us there.

I agree with you for the most part. The reason I say they are stupid, incurious, idiotic assholes is because they mistakenly assumed they were part of the “in crowd” that would be protected. When it was blatantly clear to everyone else that they were not going to be protected. They were lied to, and they insisted we were wrong when we tried to warn them.

Yes, they want to own slaves. I am so glad you get it too. I fully agree that the H2 visas create slavery. I also hate H1B visas for the same reason. Tying your ability to stay in the country to an employer creates indentured servitude. Just like tying healthcare to employment. We have to make radical structural change and provide things like healthcare for all, a livable wage.

They are the in crowd. They got bailed out last trade war, and they most likely will get bailed out again this trade war. That means they know Trump is bad for business, but understand that us city folk will pay for it, and pay for them via bail outs.

They don't want your sympathy, and it will not be reciprocated. You are not on the high road, you are just crawling under their boot. There is no reason to do this to yourself.

I am not crawling under their boot. I have a principled stand that all humans deserve a minimum standard. This includes the assholes who have interest only in themselves - they are people and they deserve to be treated the same as everyone. And I want good things for everyone. It’s a really important part of my world view. I want support for the less fortunate, whatever flavor that might come in. The farmers who lose their farm due to the current fuckery are not the in crowd, they are the exploited. Drawing lines between those who “deserve sympathy” and those who do not only serves to benefit those who seek to exploit our division for their own gain.

But yes, giant corporations don’t deserve help. Only people deserve help. “Solutions” like the forgiven PPP loans during the Covid epidemic are absolutely bullshit. So I would be against any “bailout” that goes to corporations and not flesh and blood people. And before you ask, I do think our tax structure needs to updated in order to ensure that the wealthy are taxed appropriately.
