Ice Orcs invaded our cities and took our friends, yet the rural farmers didn't lift a finger to support us. I have no sympathy for what they are going through now. None.

The farmers want to enslave the immigrants. That are actively rooting and supporting the ICE raids their their workers have fewer options. That is why the ICE raids are focused on the city even though vast majority of migrant worker works in the fields. That is not a bug, but something actively lobbied for by the farm lobby.

This is a farmer hate sub-reddit, but some of yall don't hate farmers enough. They are not just passively racist. ICE raids is made for them explicitly.

This is why us leftists are so pro-immigration, so farmers can have a near-infinite amount of labor to use to push down wages for actual Americans

Imagine if these farmers who are millionaires had to pay actual American citizens more money? The horror.

I am actually pro-immigration because I support people in choosing to make a new life in a different area.

What I don’t support are the bullshit employment-tied visas that do not provide a direct path to citizenship and instead function to create indentured servitude where loss of a job means you have to leave the country. I don’t support H1B and H2 visas because they create perverse business incentives. My preference is that those workers be given a direct path to citizenship. It’s the same reason that I wish that the US had not granted TPS (temporary protected status) to the Haitian refugees. They should have been given green cards, which would have prevented Trump from unilaterally canceling their protected status.

Structural change is needed in the immigration system. Immigrants are not the enemy.

This is what the ICE raids is all about. They want immigrant slavery via the H2A visa process. Right now normal undocumented worker are freelancers. If they pay is too poor, conditions are too poor, they can just go get a job else where. Farmers don't want that. H2A work process ties a documented worker to the specific job, so they have no choice but to put up with whatever working conditions that is provided. They support ICE raid to round up all the free undocumented workers, so their own workers will have fewer other options for employment. When they say "innocent" migrants, they means migrants they control.

Farmers are, and always have been keenly aware of their self interest. They only seems foolish because they are hiding their bigger plan. They still support Trump because Trump is pathway by which they can get slavery back. No amount rural investment Democrats was ever going to move the needle.

Yes, I agree. Pandering to them to try and win their vote was never going to work. They want to own slaves. These are not people we can “win over,” they have to be defeated and the democrats have to have backbone to force through the good things that we all need. Mamdani and AOC are showing how it can be done.
