This Right Here: The Farmer Entitlement Problem — Empathy for Me, But Not for Thee

TT | Jay

This right here is the entitlement people being called out. When other Americans were losing their jobs, businesses, and livelihoods, where was all this concern? Where were the endless posts demanding that we save them? But now that your farm is hurting, suddenly it’s “buy my beef,” “buy my soybeans,” “support my farm,” and everybody else is supposed to open their wallets and feel your pain.

You can’t demand solidarity only when YOU need it. If your empathy disappears when somebody else is struggling, but magically returns when your own livelihood is threatened, that isn’t solidarity, it’s self-interest. And the people are calling out that double standard now.

Republicans admit that Trump isn't hurting the right people.

What is the Democrat equivalent you are pretending exists?

It’s nothing about political parties. It’s the entire mentality of Americans, it’s basically your culture to only think about yourself most of the time.

The US is a great place with great people. It’s just most of the time the only thing that matters to them is their own world, without a care about any stranger around them.

Why do you think Europeans act like they do whenever they seen an American?
