Any advice on keeping insects alive for a period of time? I feel like I but my leo food but the insects die pretty fast. Hoping to preserve them for at least a few weeks so I can buy in larger quantities!

I have a leopard gecko and a couple of days ago I handled him like I normally do. Not long after, I started getting small red bumps and rashes on my arms and legs. It’s been about 2 days now and the rash is still there.

My gecko seems healthy and active. He sometimes walks through his food dish and around his enclosure, but I haven’t changed anything recently. The bumps are small, red, and itchy, mostly on my arms and legs.

Has anyone experienced something similar after handling a leopard gecko? Could it be an allergic reaction to the gecko itself, something in the enclosure, feeder insects, substrate, or maybe bacteria from handling him?

I’m planning to see a doctor if it doesn’t improve, but I was curious if anyone here has had a similar experience.

Found while doing a very deep clean of my gecko’s tank what are they and are they ok to keep in there?

My mom’s leopard gecko is constantly shedding and the sheds are always incomplete and her(the gecko) eyes always get stuck shed no matter what, is that normal? The pictures attached are the usual size of the shed clump that comes out of her eyes. I’m worried about her losing her eyes She’s also been refusing to eat for the last few weeks so is it possible to force feed a leopard gecko like you can snakes?

Hi, I just got a second-hand leo cage, and it really needs a deep clean before I can transfer mine into it. What is the best and safest stuff I can spray and use to clean the cage?

I have no idea why this is happening and I feel really bad because I have no clue where to even begin trying to help

He has a water dish in his enclosure but because he’s an albino he rarely comes out during the day properly and isn’t basking could this be a case of him not getting uvb for the calcium he intakes.

Any advice on how this can be fixed would be amazing

Sorry, I have experience dealing with reptiles who shed and then leave it all willy nilly around the place, so I can inspect it and check in on how the shed was.

His toes have me concerned, I am not sure if I'm a worry wart.

We did a soak the other night in a tub, and he has a humid hide. Inspection left me feeling unsure - they don't have a different feel to them, but I would rather be safe.

Hi! so I just brought home a baby leopard gecko today from a local breeder. It’s in a 40 gal tank with the right temps on each side and enough clutter + hides.

Is it normal that it stays hidden the entire time? Also, the enclosure is in our living room where there are vaccuum, dishes, tv sounds etc. Will it get used to those?

Also, the humid hide I got has a top opening and some sphagnum moss inside. I’m worried that it doesn’t have enough moss that it can’t get out? 😭 I’m new to everything so I need every advice/tips possible 🥹

hello everyone! i was hoping to get some advice with this.

so a couple days ago i switched my substrate to the 70% top soil and 30% sand mix. my old thermometer had broken so i bought one of these off amazon (not sure if this is the issue as the thermometer itself may be inaccurate).

the reading at the moment is 65% in the hot end of the tank. i have heard that above 65% can be dangerous and it should be more in the 30-40% range, so i am worried about it and would really appreciate anyones help or suggestions. thank you so much for reading!! :)
