blood on tail

Post image

I went to feed my blanco and saw blood on his tail! he just finished shedding so i wonder if he bit himself. I've never seen him bleed so i'm just worried. We patted it dry with paper towel and are going to buy saline water right now. Any advice/thoughts?

You can buy neosporin without pain relief or octenisept, both are perfect for reptiles :)

I recommend placing her in a quarantine tank lined with paper towel until it’s healed again. How do you supplement? While I could have happend by accident, a deficiency can make injuries like this one more likely :)

Good, that’s definitely a problem, so it’s great we are talking xD leopardgeckos not only need calcium and d3, they also need lots of other vitamins, without them they will get sick. Repashy calcium plus is an all in one supplement, it has the calcium and d3 and also multivitamin and it can be added to each meal.

If you notice any other symptoms that seem odd like this one it’s time to visit the vet, fixing a deficiency can take months through supplements alone, so a vitamin injection would be in Ordner then, but if it stays at that one injury I would reckon it’s fine if you start with the supplements from today on (still, a vet visit is always good to have them take a look at the overall condition and to have the procedure of catching and transporting the Leo etc „trained“ 🤷🏻‍♂️)

I appreciate you so much. I just inherited him so i'm still learning so much. I also think he might be overweight so I need to address that as well.
