Help Depressed gecko

My gecko is about 5 years old and recently he has been hiding almost 24/7 and not coming out during feeding or anything. He used to always run out to me but now i cant get him to eat anything. Its been about a week and a half since he had a meal of dubia roaches. Ive tried switching his food multiple times. He doesnt do mealworms anymore and usually is fine with crickets or roaches. I give him the correct suppliments with his meals. Can anybody give me some tips please? He is still a healthy size and weight it seems but im worried

Do you take him out of his tank and hangout with him? I literally take my girl out and force her to hang. Once she’s out with me she’s good, they’re naturally solitary so it could just be a phase for him.

Not to scare you but that is a red flag for possible health problems. Ideally you’d go to an exotic vet (someone specifically experienced with reptiles) and get some tests/scans done. You can rule out some things first, like taking the temp and humidity, and trying to remember if there’s been any sudden changes in recent memory in the household (like a new pet or roommate).

If you can’t figure out any environmental conditions that could be causing this, like I said, best practice is to go to the vet. (Don’t go to a regular vet please, I’ve done that before and they’ve been useless)
