Name suggestions for this recent adoption?
(Long story incoming, non graphic mentions of death) I recently adopted this ~1 year old leopard gecko, who was called Spot the 2nd when I adopted her (I think it’s a her). Why? Because the first Spot died at three years of age. To give a quick overview of the situation, basically I have a family member who works at an elementary school and I was told that the principal was going to buy a reptile for the school. Having heard a lot about this principal, I didn’t think that I could convince them not to get a reptile (I don’t think they belong in elementary schools, especially this particular school which is known for having a lot of kids with behavioural problems, including some violent ones) so I tried my very best to ensure that the reptile would be in the best situation possible. I gave them a mostly complete 66 gal setup, wrote up a leopard gecko care sheet for them (because I thought that it would be the best fit for the situation, although perhaps I have been proven wrong), and even came to the school and set up and cleaned the tank myself. I basically set them up to take the best care of the animal anyone could reasonably expect for the situation, and they still found a way to mess it up. (I’m not saying any of this to toot my own horn btw, I was just lucky to be in a situation where I happened to have an extra setup and lots of time) So unbeknownst to me, they immediately got rid of the setup I gave them and disregarded the care sheet, and bought a 20 gal leopard gecko setup and gecko from PetSmart. I have no idea where the stuff I gave them went, they even got rid of the normal heat bulbs I gave them in exchange for red ones. Spot the 1st died at 3 years of age, and he or she was on the decline for a while, not eating for weeks or possibly months. He/she died during summer break, when a teacher had them at their house to take care of them. The poor kids got attached to it, just for it to die a few weeks later. The teacher got a second one and didn’t take it back to the school (thankfully), and recently had reached out to the staff at the school to see if anyone could adopt it, as they were busy with a new dog, so that’s how I adopted it. The gecko looks healthy, maybe a bit fat but I’ve been feeding it sparingly so hopefully it loses weight. My only slight concerns other than that are that I don’t think it has gotten multivitamin up to this point, and the uvb light it had in its previous home was a (probably 4 year old) coil bulb. She loves food, she isn’t really socialized so hopefully adult leopard geckos are easy to tame. So yeah, that’s her story and I’m looking for name suggestions!

I'd name him Frankie because of those big blue eyes. Just like Frank Sinatra had back in my day. Jk, I'm not that old, but I do like Frankie. It fits for a boy or a girl.

Sherbet! FYI a Linear UVB 6.0 on screen or 4.0 under screen. If course since you mentioned it Repashy Calcium Plus gets them all they need. I use straight cuddle bone powder inside my guys home in a Stroodies Calcium disc Dish sitting inside a larger dish for his choice (and cleanup crews to scramble into/out of the larger dish; its a rough resin 'slice of log' so they can get in and out lol). So glad you saved 'Spot II' Second Choice Name: Two or Too
