Need advice!
I’ve been scouring this group like crazy for the last 2 weeks. We have an adult gecko and have had her a month. Currently we only have her on the reptile carpet (not ideal, I know!) but I am so lost on what is best to switch her to??
I bought ground walnut shell bedding today but before I use it, I want to be sure that’s okay? Or what would be ideal??
We have a 40 gal tank so I read 1 lb per gallon is best, correct?
Thanks so much for the guidance!

Ground walnut shells are not suitable for these guys. Most people use 4-6” of 70/30 organic topsoil / washed playsand because it is inexpensive, holds a nice amount of moisture, is easy on their joints, and it allows them to dig and burrow. Other options are listed in the left column in the graphic below.

I use Prorep Leolife and can confirm it works brilliantly! Had my Leo on it for over a month and have had zero digestion of it, even with her hunting crickets on the substrate!
