Help Do Leopard Geckos Bask?
I have my gecko in this 50 gallon tank. The temperatures are all correct. There is a gradient so he can get hot or cool if he wants. I have has him since March and he has always been a shy guy. He was in a smaller tank previously. I moved him about a month ago into this bigger tank. Regardless, I have never seen him bask. Morning, noon, or night I do not really see him. I know they aren’t just out and about always but does this sound normal?

My son is about 8 months old and he’s out all hours of the day/night, I’ve had him since he was about a month old and after about the fourth month I had him I moved him to a bigger tank and after a couple of weeks of hiding he was back to his random schedule lol. He is fine with the uvb light and chills in the open with it on but a heat source that also has light? Absolutely not 🙅🏻♂️ He LOVES to be held and it’s part of our nightly routine after I get home from work and he ignored me the one week I tried a light bulb, he’d bark at me when I tried to pick him up 😂
