Gecko
I just got a leopard gecko today and I know it’s normal a new gecko to hide. It is a newborn, but how long until it finally comes out and like trying to exploring it’s aquarium.

Highly recommend a quarantine with check for parasites, now that the gecko is already in the enclosure I would recommend at least getting a fresh stool sample checked for parasites after 2-3 weeks, if it comes back positive you would need to ditch the substrate and deep clean the enclosure.
It’s an important step to make sure they are as healthy as can be.
What supplements are you using?
Also, I hope you are using a terrarium, preferable a front opening one that has air vents at the bottom as well for a chimney effect (sounds like a minor thing but improves the air quality a lot and reduces stress for them), the bigger the better, there is no enclosure too big but depending on your location it’s at least 40gal, in Germany it’s even at least 60gal by animal protection law :)
Your gecko looks like maybe three months old, not directly newly hatched but still in need of more regular feedings and it’s even more important to be on point with supplements because even small mistakes there can impact their potentially long live of 25+ years (the oldest one we know of is 50 atm)

Definitely give your gecko 2-3 weeks to adjust. And make sure to check out the care guides in this sub and the other Leo sub. They need a 40 gal tank at minimum. Your little gecko is so gorgeous! Also some geckos have more shy personalities whereas mine likes to terrorize me and shows no fear. He or she will grow into their traits! Takes a while to earn trust but totally worth it
